8th Ed. Any fresh rumors on the next army book?

My local game store owner said it's probably Wood Elves, but he doesn't have any secret channel of information or anything.

The May slot has been rumored to be Wood Elves for about 6+ months now. Its practically a certainty.

So may is their release date then. Is there anything you have heard about their units/special rules?

Too much to weed through. Unlike the Dark Elves and Dwarfs, the good Asrai moderators did not try to make a rumor roundup and group the Likely, not likely, and far fetched rumours accordingly.

THe only thing people consistently believe is that Wood Elves will get ASF like the other two Elf subraces. Also the unit caps are expected to be done away with (consistent with every army book to date I think).

Many people think their ballistic shooting will get an upgrade but there is not an agreement on how. +1 Strength, reroll 1s, Killing Blow at short range, quick to fire, etc. Everyone there seems to agree that their cavalry will get a boost of some kind but they can't agree on what.

The Lore of Athel Loren is widely expected to be given a major revamp but I personally doubt it. I expect they will lose the Lore altogether and get more BRB lores and maybe High Magic. I have nothing to base this on other than Athel Loren's conspicuous absence from Storm of Magic

Killing blow at short range is a great idea! Makes that stand and shoot reaction all that more tempting

There have been a ton of Wood Elf new rules broken in the last hour or so as early books arrive.

Suffice it to say, there is ignore armour saves everywhere. All wood Elf bows and Spears have Armour Peircing. Glade guard, glade riders, scouting glade guard, and warhawk riders can buy ignore amour save arrows. Waywatchers come with them as standard. Waywatcher nobles have ignore armour save shots and Sniper.

Is this the final death knell of Saurus Cavalry and Saurus Warriors? Will we now see a surge in Ripperdactyls, Camo Skinks, and the humble Skink Skirmisher?

Whats the link to your source?I'm not calling you a liar, just wondering what your source was so I can take a look at it too?

It's not too much better, but most of those units only get "AP -3". Only the Way Watchers get to actually ignore all armor saves.

Not sure if the AP -3 stacks with their base AP giving them -4 to armor saves.

I've been following this thread on Warseer: http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?393430-Wood-Elf-Rumours-Mk-III-Week-2-!!!/page57

Someone got the Spanish version of the book this morning and has been answering questions. Brother Fenix posted a recap of some of the Q's and A's on page 57.

Liking the look of the new models quite a bit!

I am intrigued by this whole armor save bit. I made need to rework my army if that is the case.

errr.. you guys are using Internet Explorer, don't you?
