I've been playing with the idea of running 2 skink chiefs in a unit of skrox
(our gaming group deemed this OK and as intended by Andy Hoare, auther of our book, it is our opinion that had 8th edition rules been out, this would have been included in his book)
I want to run one with The Dagger of Stotek, Carnosaur Pendant, and an additional hw. And the other with Helm of Discord, Charmed Shield and The Other Trickster's Shard.
The idea bening kill melee characters. Helm of Discord makes it so they get hit atuomaticly, Dagger of Sotek gives killing blow so they'll have no armor save. With the pendant and the additional hand wep he'll have 5 attacks with killing blow that automaticlly hit. And the Other Trickster's Shard makes him reroll ward saves if he passes.
So 5 dice to get one 6. Get a 6 and they have no armor saves and have to reroll ward saves. And die if they fail.
Any good? It's about 210 points or so. I think it's worth a shot.
The goal of this is, I'm hoping the threat of this combo will have my opponent's heavy hitting melee heros and lords steer clear of my skrox. Which has been one of their biggest downfalls in my expirence. My skinks give up as much combat ress as their heros have attacks.
