8th Ed. 800Pts tournament list, Please help/opinions

Hey guys, I've got an 800 point tournament in a few months and I'm planning for it now and I have made a list and it has been changed more times than I can count (over the last 3 weeks). I have swapped out units and added stuff in and generally changed it. I now think I have a good list I wanted to know your opinions and ideas. (btw in the tournament you are only allowed ONE lord OR hero.

Just to add the other units that I thought about or have been in a list at some point are: kroxigors or skrox unit, ripperdactyl unit, stegadon, extra sally and maybe razordons. Any help would be very much appreciated .

I actually like this list.

You have a wyssan's wildform spammer (and 1 spell more ), The saurus and bastilodon should hold their own in combat.
Support in the form of skinks and chameleons (you could drop 2 chameleons and a skirmishers for some points)
and you will do good damage to your opponent's blocks with the Salamander.

I think Rippers don't have a place here. You have no high Ld -General, so you won't really be able to pick your targets.
Chameleons or even terradons will do better IMO.

If you can find the points, then a stegadon is better then a Bastilodon. But I can't see where those points would be coming from.
Razordons....not a fan. Extra sallie isn't needed. You've got enough supporting units.

The only thing that concerns me is no Ld8 general for your bastilodon, keep him safe! He breaks quite easily I'm afraid.

You have lots of support and your combat brick will do fine.

OK thanks for the advice, one thing I will ask though is about the steg and the bast do you think it is worth taking the bast and the skinks (skim) out and put the steg in or do you think the skims are too important to take out??

I think the skinks are very valuable and the Bastilodon is solid. The stegadon would be better, but even it only has Ld6. He is stubborn, which helps, but still; monsters need high Ld (and BSB) to be really effective. That's why the Slann is their best buddy.

But at 800 points, a monster of any sorts is going to be a threat.

In the end, it's your call. If you want a heavy hitting stegadon instead of some light skinks and a support monster: by all means, do so!

I really like your list, and putting a bastiladon in is very great i think, a lvl 2 wizard can´t use all magic dices alone, and bastiladon can do some havy damege in a smallw game like that, and a armor save on 2+, well not much in 800 point is able to take that just don´t ran into a empire or dwarf player with canons But then you have a small units chameleons to kill that turn one
I have make som few changes, so you get 2 monsters in rare = more shoting, they can stand and shoot, and when they are 2 they can fight also so what the don´t shoot in stand and shoot, they can kill in cc 4 strength 5 and 6 strength 3 all with Intiativ 4

Overall I like your list, just my preference but I'd swap out the power scroll for a dispel scroll.

I would love to see how an old blood would do in this situation.

Even with just a steg helm and xhw...

6S5 attacks with PF and T6 AND... impact hits from a ranked unit.

This guy would wreck most rank and file by himself.

A basti would be great in this point range... But I actully think a unit of swarms and then inceasing their number for both points denial and getting the most out of the few points you have.

Ok thanks for your ideas, I will think about them and decide what I like most also just to add the reason I have the power scroll is because if i get the transformation spell and 6 power dice with the power scroll I will as ways cast the 20+ version and get the chimera
