So, my FLGS is putting on a 500 point fantasy tourney Saturday for the release of Island of Blood, rumor has it that the grand prize will be the IoB set. I want to win this. I also haven't played at this low of point value in years. No word on scenarios yet, but I know it's possible to face just about every army. Here's where you guys come in...
Things I know I want: Scar vet general, block of spear saurus, 5-7 chameleon skinks, salamander (extra crew optional). Things I'm having trouble fitting in at numbers I feel comfortable with: All of the above. Things I know I don't want: skink priests, as heavens sucks IMO.
Right now my tentative list is:
Scar vet: LA, Halberd
19 Spear Saurus, STD/MU
7 Chameleon skinks
Salamander
499 points.
I can drop one chameleon skink and give the scar vet the dragon helm and a great weapon, but the whole reason I wanted CS in the first place is to take out things like helblasters, cannons, stone throwers and solo wizards-- all of which could be very evil at this low of points. The more shots they put out the more likely I'll be able to take nasties out the first turn, so I'm hesitant to drop them.
Am I missing something that works great at this level? What do I need to watch out for? Any advice or comments will be appreciated.
