8th Ed. 4000 vs Brets

Hey guys,
Got an upcoming battle with some Brets. 4000 points of glorious lizards against shiny, overbearing, and pretentious knights with a god complex. Thinking about running my slann with lore of metal. Going to run at least 2 30+ units of Saurus with hand weapons (I prefer the parry save) and maybe sneak a scar vet in each. Cold ones (my fav) and maybe an old blood on a carno. Not sure what else to run. Suggestions?

Hey there,

I'm wondering if rippers would be a good bet taking advantage of the killing blow and armour piercing? Krox may be a good bet as well.

I have some limited experience vs brets.

1) U will need some counter-treb units - rippers and chameleons
2) They WILL charge u, and bret's power is in lance formation. So - saurus will be better with spears. May be even Gor-Rok.
3) In most cases they will have Lady's Blessing, so Other Trickster's Shard is what u need (just place your units smart)
4) They have easy access to heroic killing blow, so take care about your monster units and heroes, and if challenged by such a hero - use your champion.
5) Had no test, but may be some razordons vs cav.

I realize it is late, but just wanted to say thanks for your help. I pulled off a solid victory. HKB was there, but I was able to avoid it. Rippers did great taking out the Treb and I used lore of beasts to boost my Krox. They went toe to toe with his Grail Train and killed most of them. There were only a handful left when I hammered a steg into them. Thanks again!
