Now my main question is concerning the razordons, they have a * because they haven't been brought yet, but i can't decide whether to get razordons or get 2 more sallys. My thinking is if i have razordons they can stand and shoot and be used to protect the flanks of either my saurus units or my temple guard.

What are peoples experiances and opinions, if any on such a tactic, or should i just go sallys all the way?

Please comment guys and gals.

Thanks

Can our core have a magic standard? If so that is awesome with razor standard in saurus unit :shamefullyembarrased:. About the razordons, i have 2 as well and i've tried and tried but they always underperform :(((. Leave them at home.

i think so but now you mention it i'm not 100% sure

if not there's another question, how do i get it in the list for saurus.

Probably with a scar vet carrying it :). Afaik we cant have magic standars in our units that doesn't specifically say so... such as temple guard and cold one cav...

i think i've tpyed it wrong, i think my scar vet is suppose to have on my original list. edited above to suit.

So your not a fan of razordons then.

Im a huge fan of razordons :D. The models are simply awesome! Sadly they are not a fan of me... best result i've had is when one missfired and the other killed 8 orcs :p.

Don't get me wrong i LOVE the models, and i think my theory is sound, the potential to unleash 10 str 4 shots in one round could and probably would decimate units like T3 orcs, elves and such alike, but i'm concerned about the randomness of them, thats what is leaving me with a tough decision. Sallys are more consistant i feel in what they do, but without stand and shoot, they can't fulfill the job like a razordon could.

I'm really stuck on this one.

Exactly... I think the real point of razordon trouble is the roll to hit when standing and shooting...Make them Auto hit when standing and shooting and they would be great but not completely awesome :). I mean you still have the 2/6 chance of misfire why add the 50/50 chance to hit as well.

so, do i stick with sallys coz they make sense go take a chance and get something that i love the model for but, if entrusted with a task may fluff it

I would say to definitely go with Salamanders in such a large battle ;) Even if they over-shoot they are BOUND to hit something!! Razordons can be effective but the best thing to do with them is stick them on a flank where your opponent has skirmishers/fast cavalry as they normally have a lower toughness and less armour therefore the shots would do a bit more damage over-all.. In the end dude, its your choice ;) Most people don't take the Razordons but most people dont take the Horned One either and I do.. Its all personal preference!

Thanks. i think i am gonna buy the razordon models coz i really like them, then either use them as razors or sallys. but probably as razors so they can sit on the flanks of my slaan/TG unit, that way none of the bigger units are forced to do so instead and they can concerntrate on what they are there for. munch munch, bash bash, die die!
