Hey guys, I've been stalking these boards for a while and finally decided to make some posts. I have an upcoming tournament that my friends have told is is rather competetive, and there is no comp on it. I had a couple ideas for armies and thought I would post them here to see what you guys suggested.

Without further ado:

i would opt for the 2nd list, altho i like the first one too

You made a small error tho, your scar vet bsb in the first list, cant have magic banner and magic gears :)

No Skrox? :shifty:

Looks like it should do well. Just remember that at 3k you will likely run into magical artillery of some sort more often than not. Plaque of Protection would be ideal for your floating Slann, if you can squeeze it in somehow.

In list one I'd give the bsb back to one of the slann, whichever one is going to be in the TG.

@Ferocious Thanks, I missed that

@QuapakokoI - I mght have included skrox, but I dont own javelin skinks or Kroxigors yet so they got left out. Are they worth it? I havent tried to proxy any in friendly games yet so I dont know how well they perform, they seem like they would be nice to slam into high toughness monsters but lose resolution horribly vs any normal units.

In both lists the ethereal shadow slann is the one going solo.

I like them as a troop choice. My army list usually has one. The Kroxigor usually do enough damage to make up for any combat res given up by the Skinks, but not always. They are a very good flanking troop though.

But your list is fine without them. CoC should provide a good punch for flanking.

Solid looking list, I have no major issues. I have some mnior issues

-I would personally be reluctant to take a Death Slann without lore master.
-I'd consider giving the bunkered Death Slann the Standard of Discipline or giving the Standard of Discipline to the Temple Guard. I believe the new BRB FAQ lets you use the boosted Ld for Spirit Leech now.
-I'd drop some magical items to free up points. The Jaguar Charm is probably unnecessary. Since you are taking lore of Shadows, you can always have the Slann jump your Scar Veterans around the board. The amulet of Itzl is a bit overpriced for what it does. I don't think the Crown of Command is necessary for the lone Slann. It's handy yes, but a Shadow Slann should be mobile enough to stay out of trouble.

It is however incredible handy when he is also ethereal and can hold up the biggest units in CC without any real fear of ever breaking if they have no magic items :)
I have used such a slann before merely for holding a unit and flanking with Saurus/Steg or similar. Often you can catch your opponent by surprise with such a move :)

Yeah, dropping the feedback scroll would free up enough lords points for me to give the death slaan the standard of discipline.I dont know what else I could drop from my lords in the first list.

I was actually planning on using this to get him into trouble as scalenex describes and tie up monsters or large units that dont have magic weapons, the stubborn keeping him in the combat despite ranks and banners

That is a very good idea, a Slann tarpit is intriguing. I may have to try it some day.
