8th Ed. 3k Batttle - Allied with Ogres

Hi All,
I've got a 3000 point game coming up tomorrow which I'll be sharing the field with Ogre Kingdoms. We'll be coming up against either a full Empire, or Empire/High Elves combo.

My mate (playing Ogres) will be taking something along the lines of;
Slaughtermaster
Hunter
unit of Knoblars
unit of Ogres
Sabertusks
Stonehorn

I'm going to take;
Oldblood (burning Blade, crown of command, tali of preservation)
EotG
Block of Saurus
unit of CoC
unit of chamos

Not too sure what the opposition will be taking, but seeng that the High Elves book was recently released, I figure he'll be using lots of elves.

I'm thinking I want the saurus unit to come into contact with with some knights so the burning blade of chotec can rip through their armour and cause firey fear on them!

you can play without a slann against empire, but vs high elves you need it. I recommend life

My ally took his lv 4 ogre mage and we came up against a full empire army.
Steam tank, archers, horde of great swords, demi gryphs knights and war machines.
In the end, we came out with 20odd more victory points.
So, a draw, was a great game though because we both had some crazy things happen. My steg broke from combat, the ogre wizard got sucked into a dimensional warp and the empire steam tank blew up in the first turn!
The chamo skinks were perfect, killed the great canon first up, 3 6s to hit means dead canon! Huzzah!
