7th Ed. 2x 1000 points army lists (first atempt)

hey guys i made 2 1000 point army lists I'd like to hear your opinion and critics.

here's the first this one is more based on magic than the other.

The second one is the best of these 2 i think but i just want to try Tetto'eko so i made that list for him, but for a 1000p game i think he's to expensive.

i'll not comment on special characters since i never used them, EXCEPT the fac that you post the exact point cost for him, same with the 10 skinks skirmishers
otherwise... the 1st list has a lvl 1 priest wich halves the effectivness of the diadem, not to mention you lose 1 PD wich is usefull for casting if you have tetto'eko to make lore of heavens easyer to cast

i'd probably go with the 2nd list, its more balanced, magic defence is good with 4 DD, also the great weapon for the scar vet is rather useless unless somebody destroys your Scimitar, maybe you could find the points to give the saurus unit he is joining a champion to protect him from challenges

i'll probably be playing the second list with some adjustments here suggested.
but how does a champion protect your carracter?

international copyright laws and all that, theres allways a risk that GW will shut down forums like this and we want to minimise that chance by giving as little information as possible directly from the army book (point costs, statistics, quotes, etc)

also, it might happen that your scar vet gets challenged by either something that will surely die but will save the other models in he unit by making his 4 attacks only kill 1, or he might be challenged by another character equipped for challenges (there are a few builds). you dont want to accept the challenge in either case so that you can either kill as many models as possible or keep your scar vet alive. if you refuse he goes to the back of the unit and becomes useless wich is also not an option. if you have a champion in he unit he can accept challenges instead of the scar vet, so you would only lose the attacks of the champion in the 1st case and you would only lose the champion in the 2nd case.
other than this, champions in saurus units aren't generally worth it

aha okey tnx for the explanation, i will try to modify the lists using your comments.
for the rest i think best way to go is to just finish the models and play some games with this lists to see is they word as planned.
also i'm new to gaming with my army so i'll be learning a lot of stuff the first games to.

I think you've got a strong second list. Though I would drop the great weapon as well (unless your looking at just filling in points). Your unit sizes are a bit interesting (11 skinks, 10 skinks for example), but you fill in points where you can!

As for the first list, I'm a fan of Tetto eko myself. I like the vision I get when I think of a gnarled old skink priest sitting atop a palaquin being escorted by a host of skink cohorts...anyways, I digress.

hey yea the 10 and 11 skinks is just because i couldn't fit any more in to a 1000 points list, but in the unit of 10 will be my priest on foot so it'll be 2 units of 11
and i have changed the great weapon on my own list just haven't updated this one here.

Excellent job Rick! I did see that earlier. I haven't started my conversion yet but I have the models all lined up for it. I've decided to use Lord Kroak's Palaquin for my Tetto eko but I think I'll do some other conversions to it so that it looks differant than Mr. Kroak's.

My body guard unit is 20-30 rank and file skinks w/ full command!

yea sounds cool already!
i had this old model palanquin lying around so i used that
i also think that it a slann palanquin is to big for a skink to sit on.

also i don't have any guard jet due to a lack of models haha.
but i am planning on something like that and convert them with bits from the temple guard sprue

but i suggest we take this talk to the conversion topic because we're getting a little bot off topic haha
