Gonna have a game vs the pansy elves this weekend. Will be playing 2500 with a random scenario, so can be anything from annihilation towards capturing objects to molesting villagers. Gonna go with a lone Slann to not limit myself in the movment part.

There will be alot of dryards and treekins alot of archers to I think and wild riders.. Maybe a dragon or a treeman.

Anyway, this what I came up with. Both scar-vets will be in the Saurus unit in the beginning.. if need be the fight one can leave via steed of shadow and join the CoR or be of on his own against treekins (1+ rerollable with magic flaming attacks at -5 armour save? hell yea ;)

Salamanders work well against elves. Dryads, Saurus can beat them as long as they don't gang up on one unit, and dryads are very quick as they are skirmishers and can run rings around your Saurus BLOCKS.

Lore of Shadow.. hmm, take Lore of Death instead as elven characters are usually toughness 3.
 
Why take shadow? Doesn't seem to have any synergy at all with the list except maybe lower the T for the salamanders, but Death can do that as well and have a ton more useful spells. 4 Salamanders might be overkill though, they are only good against big units of Eternal Guard, as they don't have magical flames so Forest Spirits still get their save, and flaming doesn't make much of a difference as Dryads are 1 wound anyway (and T4 + skirmish means templates are pretty bad against them). Treemen and Treekin are T5 & 6 so they are wounded on 6s and their large bases means you won't hit more than 1-2 so plain skinks are better against them.

Also don't forget Forest spirits have magical attacks (that includes the Treeman ranged attack) so your Slann isn't as indestructible as he is against other lists.
