8th Ed. 2500 Tournament list help

Im relatively new to playing Lizards and would like all the help i can get with my list. The 3 top players in our local tournies are 2 Skaven and a VC player. My list looks like this,


Slann
Focus Of Mystery
The Becalming Cogitation
Focused Rumination
Cupped Hands
Lore of light

Skink Priest
Dispell scroll, stegadon ancient EOTG

10 Skink skirmishers x 3

40 Saurus
Musician, Standard

30 Temple gaurd
FC, Banner of Eternal Flame

6 Chameleon Skinks x 2

Salamander and 4 crew x 2

Razordon and 4 crew x 2

Total 2497

The idea is to run the 2 blocks with the stegie in between for a gungan shield effect from the EOTG. Run the salamanders and razordons down the flanks. The skink skirmishers out in front to get the extra -2 to hit from most shooting. Chameleon skinks are war machine hunters.

I'm running Lore of Light atm, I really found the Temple Guard to be a poor and overpriced choice without Earthblood, although a unit that size might work better.

You do have better overall answers to high Toughness with the TG and that many skinks, which is the main problem with Light. I would probably skip the Razordons for an Armor of Destiny Scar-Vet though. Taking the Flaming Banner is also a bit of a risk on a unit that large, with all races having acces to the Dragonhelm and the Dragonbane Gem, the Razer Standard would be awesome if you could find the points for it.

If you're worried about ethereals and HPA's you could consider a Scar-Vet with Burning Blade of Chotec to get rid of regeneration and give you some magical attacks apart from the EotG.
