8th Ed. 2500 points, critique please

I had thought the tourney I'm hitting on the 16th was 2200 points, sounds like its 2500 instead, so I revamped my list.

Slann - BSB, Focus of Mastery + Rumination + Becalming + Higher State, Cupped Hands, Staff of Lost Sun, Bane Head, Lore of Light

TG - 10 guys, full command, banner of swiftness (I only have 10 models :sad panda:

Scar-Vet - gw, la, shield, talisman of protection (4+ ward) in horde unit
Saurus - spears, 49 guys (50 with Scar Vet)

Skink Priest - Dispell scroll
Skin Chief - Pirhana Blade, Enchanted Shield
Skinks- 1 Krox, 10 guys...... the idea here is to use the pries/chief and skinks to frame the solo krox, just to give them some beef and a little surprise unit to flank/warmachine hunt.

The only thing I'm unsure on is the priest/chief/skrox thing. It took on a life of its own, 345 points for that. its pretty useless, but I wanted some protection for the priest. I like the chief, although I know he's squishy. The one krox i dont like. My OCD requires me have a nice little "box", and the 12 skinks around the krox do that admirably, but I think anyone that hits it will destroy that unit pretty quick.

I could dump the skink cohort, and the chief, just go with a 2x2 bus formation of krox, and the priest running solo, but then I think the priest will be smushed like a punk.

I am not a huge fan of traditional Skrox units. I tried the other night with a 24 skink/3krox unit, and it just didn't do diddly squat.

I do not have chameleons, I don't have terradons (Help me Ebay, you're my only hope!), and I don't really know what else to put in there.

I could put the skink on an EoG, I got one of them....thats 3 stegadons...which is silly and yet so appealing...esp because I spent the money on the model.

With a Balistic Skill of 3 the Slann is probably not going to hit much with that staff. It might be better on a BS 5 chief!

Slann could benefit from some other item for those points.

Do you have the bits from your Saurus Warriors? The shoulder pads and a little green stuff work on the spears could get you some more TG by converting Saurus. At 2500 points I would think that anything less than 16 would be a big risk to your Slann. Otherwise consider running him solo with the banner of swiftness and the Plaque of Protection.

A Skrox unit isn't going to protect your priest. Skirmishers are better. Unless he's on an Engine he is just going to die as soon as he sees combat.

I do love my Engine Priest! Of course, I run a life Slann so I can keep it healthy and safe.

Yo can save 3 points on your Vet and imrove your armor save in combat by dropping La/sh/Talisman for the Armor of Destiny.

I don't see my frequent MVP buddies (Chameleons). They're loads of fun at parties where some punk brings a cannon, or invites a giant.
