8th Ed. 2250 point Anti HF magic

Hey there everyone, long post ahead. I'm going to be playing my buddy's new HF army and what I've heard it is very magic heavy. So I put this anti-magic list together, my biggest fear is that I have three huge cost eating units. I feel that I may loose a fair bit of tactical flexibility, and that pesky ASF my see my beloved Saurus cut down before they can squish some elves. Although with the spells from lore of Life I have survived 3 units from a VC army charging into my Temple Guard (Fully buffed of course).
My Plan is to rush my Slann and Bunker unit of temple guard to his level 4 mage, where he will than have to reroll 6s, take a stupidity test hopefully blunting his magic phase. I can save two dice and add them to my dispel if I need to which is always good, and of course wait for the optimal mist-cast to bounce on to his level 4
I am a little hesitant on running the ancient just due to the point cost, but the supportive use in +5 ward save to my Saurus is a big eye catcher for me, not to mention three spells which will hopefully get me the curse spell causing a unit to reroll 6s, Harmonic convergence rerolls 1s, and my fav spell Chain lighting (just because of the time I destroyed a Pegasus lord and a unit of Pegasus knights :droid: ) I can of course work with the others but in my ideal dream world I would get those lol.

Salamander with breath weapons and -3 to armor save will make quick work of rank and file elves he decides to bring or at least make them more manageable
Chamo skinks there to take out any bolt throwers or eagles.

One item from each category of Magic Items. i.e., one weapon, armor or arcane item. With Lore of Life you could drop the Cupped Hands or the Diadem and not feel too exposed. My choice would be the Diadem as I rarely have even 1 power die left after my magic phase. The Grubs I would drop with out batting an eye. The Bane Head would also be handy to boost CHotOO. As a BSB I would consider the Standard of Discipline (all around good choice), Banner of Ethernal Flame (if he doesn't bring Dragon Princes) or the Razor Standard (if he does....).

Same situation. Drop the plaque. you could give your priest the Dawn Stone just to watch your opponents face when you tell them the priest has a 2+ re-rollable AS.

Good sized unit.

Both of these are great flank protectors for your Slann.

O gezz I totally forgot about that, Thanks lol. That's what I get for making a list after 14hr work day. Thanks for the input!
 
No problem. This is very close to my original lists when I started LM in 6th. Later Krox units (when they were S7) and more Skinks joined in. Now I find that I enjoy the verastility of Skrox units. 3 kroxigors w/ 24+ skinks, mus. and banner.
