8th Ed. 2000pts - Minimal Skink and Hero List

I like Saurus bricks, and i think they look formidable on the table, so this list is my way to play with my two painted blocks in 2000 points.

Lord:
Slann
BSB,Standard of Discipline,
Harmonic Convergence, Soul Of Stone, Focus of Mystery
Channelling Staff

Hero:
Skink Priest - Lore of Beasts
Dispel Scroll

Core:

2x Saurus Bricks of 36 with full command each

Special:
Bastilidon - With Laser beam
Ripperdactyl Riders
Temple Guard x 12 with musician only

Rare:

2x Salamander Hunting Pack with 1 extra snack.

This is a very hero light army. I am very new to the game, will this hurt me?

You should be fine, it's prety close to the old rather typical build but with 2 new units.

Ps. since I don't see any swarms I assume you are going with the Lazer beam Bastilidon build..?

yeah, damn, forgot to post that bit.

I was a bit worried because i have read all over the place that skink swarming is the way to go....but i really like saurus.

I think you'd like skink skirmishers if you gave them a try. You could get the points for a block of 11 by droping 7 saurus spread out over your blocks.

I used skirmishers in my last game to act as outriders and hold up units that tried to flank. What other uses are skinks for? I have had minimal success in using the poison to kill big things.
