8th Ed. 2000pt list revised

Last night was the first time I had played with Lizardmen.... I lost. I'm very new to Warhammer and everyone I play has been playing 12+ years... so... I came up with a new, utility, annoyance-style army.

There was a Wall of Text before I condensed it....


Here's my new list. It has more character and fluff... plus more utility. And honestly, it looks "better."

Slann Mage - Cupped, Bane Head, Rumination, Mystery, Cogitation, Higher State, BSB (+1 LD)

Temple Guard x 16 - Flame Banner

Saurus Warriors x 18 - FC

Salamander Hunting Pack x 1

This army (according to ArmyBuilder is 1 pt over, but that's not going to make an army OP)


Tell me what you think! PLEASE! : ) I realize Cold One Cavalry aren't favored in this edition, and definitely not on these forums. However, I have the models... and I want to at least try them out.

Also - I have to buy terradons.

looks interesting in my eyes as well dont know why this forum fowns on them either...

i have a feeling your not acquainted with stegadons? i like the list as it is pretty much what i first made then change it a lot as i am still changing it now, and check it out leave your comments. but i feel there isnt enough theme or heavy hitting in this list. also what lore?

The reason that Cold One Cavalry is frowned upon is that they are Extremely overpriced in 8th edition. You need 10 to be able to reliably break ranks, that is just too expensive.

As far as cupped hands and becalming....I say keep them. You can drop bane head, I never take it anyway. Cupped hands is essential. Even if you take Lore of Life, YOU choose when it goes off! If you want, you can use it when you get IF with throne of vines even. Or, if you take another lore, it is essential to have the protection that cupped hands offers.

You do not need higher state because you have a TG bunker to protect the slann. Terradons are ok. You should maybe drop one unit of Terradons and take some chameleons. They will be worth their weight in gold, I assure you.

Try the cavalry out, you may find that they are worth it. Just make sure that they do not charge head on into any unit. Always use them on the flank.
