8th Ed. 2000pt army w/ carny

I am playing a 2000 point low magic game this weekend and am looking for a good build for an oldblood on a carny.

I have 500 points total to spend on him, and I will be facing Bretonians.

The list I am toying with is:
oldblood
Shield
Gambler's armor
Great Weapon
Luck Stone

2x 18 Saurus blocks w/ scar vet
5x CoC
2x 10 man skink units
2 salamanders
2x 5 man Chameleon skinks

Filler to round out points.

I may take a skink priest but nothing more than that, we are looking to do more tactics and less magic.

Thoughts?

You can't take 2 magic armors,
one has to be regular armor.

Ps. I am assuming your old blood is riding the carnie?
