370pts-Slann mage priest- focus of mystery, the focused rumination.
Cupped hands of the old ones. BSB

440pts-Skink Priest- lvl2 upgrade engine of the gods, diadem of power, dispel scroll.

128pts-Saurus scar vet.- pirhana blade, shield, light armour.

154pts-Saurus temple gaurd 14- revered gaurdian.

250pts-Saurus warriors- 20, standard bearer, saurus champion, musician

238pts- Saurus Warriors- 20, standard bearer, musician

280pts-cold one cavalry- 6, standard bearer, musician, champion sword of might.

140pts-skink skirmishers- 20

total: 2000pts

please give feedback, this list is untested.
 
considering the amount of casting power you have you should focus more on offense then defense with that in mind i would swap the diadem for the plaque of tepok

i would make your unit of saurus 6x3 with no champ and i would lose 3 temple guard between the scar-vet and the slann that will bring them to 15 you could also lose the cold-one champ which gives you another 40 pts

and with the points you save you can get a scar-vet on cold-one and give him the BBoC and enchanted shield
what this does is give you your champ's str a better WS and way more -AS on attacks not to mention more attacks plus another cold-one rider so a total of 7 in the unit now you have a real challenger in that unit and a real hammer unit

i would also split up your skinks into 2 units of 10
 
Your Slann should cost 395, BSB is 25 pts.

And you should definitely give at least one saurus block spears, they do so much pain that way. 2 attacks times 2 ranks! :jimlad: :meh:
 
thanks for the feedback, i've taken your advice and made some modifications to my list. The scar vet will now go in the unit of cold-ones. i will be fielding my saurus in rows of 6x3, the unit with spears should get a total of 24 attacks on the charge. my skinks were broken into 2 blocks of 10, one of them with a kroxigor.
i have 14 points left over, if you can think of anything, let me know.

You could do with some blowpipes, perhaps drop the skink brave and then upgrade that unit to skirmishers.

1 -> With him being level one and keeping the scroll you have 5 DISPEL DICE [lots, really] and still a scroll.

2 -> Heavans magic sucks.

3 -> It frees up points that can be spent on a unit/s, which is always useful, as opposed to more magic and magic protection, which is only SOMETIMES USEFUL. (Play the odds when it comes to points allocation).

4 -> You spend less on your characters, and you army loses total Power Dice. This is good because
A] -- Your army looks less cheesy and hence is more likely to get higher Army Composition points when it gets judged for Soft-Scores before a tournament.
B] -- Doesn't even matter cos the Slann doesn't lose any PD, and he's he one that actually does stuff with his magic.

- 3 Terradons
- 5 chameleon skinks with no stalker

{OR}
- More unit/s of 18 Saurus with spears ranked 6 x 3 with full command.

What will make you choose either/or?
1 - Opponents army make-up [Blocks or Skirmishers or Fast Cavalry, Fear or Terror or Not? Shooting or Combat---What will you most likely be fighting against?].
2 - Playstyle Choice
3 - Model aesthetics choice

Last but not least. If you HAVE TO free up some points, the best things to drop are, in order of droppability ;p

1- The entire unit of cold one cavalry and the chracter in it. I get it if this is a no-go, so....
2 - The burning blade on the scar-vet.
3 - The enchanted shield on the scar-vet.
3 - The dispel scroll on the priest.
4 - Everything else is essential.

thanks a lot for the advice, i have some chameleons, are they actually any good, and i will add some more guys to the temple gaurd squad, and add full comand to my saurus.

WHY? - Disagree here, The lvl 2 upgrade gives an extra PD, Spell, and DD, the Plaque Gives him a Third spell which effectively makes him a full lvl 3 Wizard, although I personally Prefer a Power Stone or DD

2 -> Heavans magic sucks. - Absolute rubbish here, im sorry, Heavens gives Boosted combat potential, Particularly to Cold one Cavalry, good magic Missiles and Comet if ever you need it. Whats the point of having an engine if the guy on top isnt going to be using magic offensively.

3 -> It frees up points that can be spent on a unit/s, which is always useful, as opposed to more magic and magic protection, which is only SOMETIMES USEFUL. (Play the odds when it comes to points allocation). - Only frees up 35 points, which is probably enough to make a small difference, but its better spent on the Skink Priest.

A] -- Your army looks less cheesy and hence is more likely to get higher Army Composition points when it gets judged for Soft-Scores before a tournament.
B] -- Doesn't even matter cos the Slann doesn't lose any PD, and he's he one that actually does stuff with his magic.

Ive only joined recently and im not looking to make enemies here. You gave a detailed response and im sure your just trying to help this guy out, but I just think you were being a bit aggressive and I dont agree with what you say, so I thought a second opinion might be good.
