Yo finally got the new book and made up my list tell me what you think??

Basically its aimed at giving the slann lore of shadows hopefully getting unseen lurker.. casting it on the stegs.. getting the engine behind enemy lines and the ancient into combat a.s.a.p (Steg + unseen lurker = 24" movement ;) )

Slann will remain on his own but will move with units nearby as protection.

post comments and advice please??
 
It seems a little short on total # of units. If you don't plow through the units you charge, you will get flanked a lot because you don't have many other units.
 
You got a bold plan, and it might actually work.. Try to fry his flankers with your sallys and back it up with some magic. Try to aim you ancient at the weakest spot of your enemys lines to break through and overrun. Then the next turn, you hopefully get a combined charge from your saurus and a ancient with 2d6 +1 impact hits. It's a long shot, but this could crush the mighties unit.

Nerdling is right about you lack of numbers though, and you will probably get easily outnumbered and outmanouvered, especially if you opponent dispel your shadow magic..

But then again, It would be that much fun if you actually succede to pull this manouver of :meh:

well at my local store they have

Vampire counts (standard skeleton based army)
tomb kings (lots of archers)
O&G (Black orcs and Gringor)

they're the ones i play the most

only things that could really flank in all the armies are..

VC= 9" movement vampire but he's on his own and black coach

tomb kings= 2x scorpion things

O&G= them steam roller type things

so nothing that serious.. i can easily out maneuver all the armies with mine.. and yeh all my armies are usually low amount of units. but they do work.
if i keep the engine and the slann within 24" then i can use unseen lurker on engine without line of site so if i get a unit to protect the flank of it alls good there maybe some warriors not sure ill be having my first game on thursday maybe sooner so we'll see :)
 
quick note; the range of the Unseen Lurker Spell is 12" not 24"..

That been said, if your up agains O&G you should be especially carefull becouse you can be seriously outnumbered. I stil say, don't spred out to much and let him try to get around you. Focus on a strong center and punch right through his line. Just make sure you get the charge and try not to get stuck in combat with several units since you won't be able to overrun and he will then be set to pick you slowly apart.

yeh but the slann can cast his spells through a skink (like lork kroak could in 6th) so as long as engine is within 24 i cast it through the skink.. into itself?

correct me if i'm wrong lol.

and yeh the orc dude has like 4 units of black orcs 2 rock lobbers and 2 roller things and 2 lvl 1 priests for magic depence. so it isnt that much of a challenge.

black orcs = 4+ save = no save from ancient =].
 
Yes you could of cours cast through your skink, didn't remember that new rule :P
 
He can only cast magic missles through the Skink.....so I'm not too sure on flanking big...
 
lol well :/.. if i went second i could move steg up 12" and turn.. then use spell to get 1st turn flank? because if i move it 12 it'll still be in range of slann..
