That list worked pretty well, the skink chief and the Hurricanum allowed the Bastilladon to hit on 2's. But even then it's hard to swallow the 300 points for the Bastilladon when you're counting on that 2d6 roll.

The goal is to have the two 6+ ward save bubbles from the Luminark and the Archmage to help survive mortal wounds. Adrian the Luminark still puts out a good amount of damage, and has better range than the Bastilladon and Hurricanum and costs quite a bit less. That allows me to pick up the shadowstrike battalion and add 3 Ripperdactyls to drop down and blow up a priority target like skyfires or bloodletters.
The only part of the list I'm not in love with is the Salamander, but I don't have anything other than Skinks to justify taking a skink chief. And I wouldn't make him the General because the Sunblood's command ability benefits more of the army. What else could fill that 60 point slot that would synergize well with the army? Or is the Salamander a worthy addition with the rend -2?
