Hi, I just want to play the new lizzies (love the look of big beasts amongst the little skinks), but not know very well how they do in combat. I tried to make up some kind of list. I would appreciate all tips, hints and suggestions. Thanks for them in advance.

Skink priest, Engine, Lvl 2, Plaquet, DS
Skink chief, Terradon, LA, SH, Staff of the Lost Sun

Skinks skirmish X 10
Skinks skirmish X 10
Skinks X 8, M, SB, Kroxigor
Skinks X 8, M, SB, Kroxigor
Terradons X 3

I thought of shielding the Krox units with Engine and marching against enemy lines, skirmishers for screen or flanking and terradons for support where needed...
 
It's a rather well done list, nothing wrong with it by any means. I'd suggest really thinking about taking a Scar-Veteran and either making him a JSoD or put him with one of your Kroxigor/Skink units or that you have his Leadership and battle skills. Other then that, I don't see anything wrong with this list. Oh, also, be sure you use the Terradons to take out enemy war machines and shooters, that Drop Rock ability is also great for taking out enemy units or knocking off a rank of big important units.
 
looks good, although i thought that skink cohorts had a minimum unit size of 10.
 
Sorry, you are right, skinks are 10 plus... Need to reconsider the points spent and try to put in the Scar-vet.

Sad to drop the skink chief... but dont know where else to get the points...
 
I think that list will provide a good balance, let us know how it goes.
 
Now I realise that the scar-vet has movement just 4 and slows my whole unit, therefore the CC block is very slow if I want him in fight... Maybe I would pick the chief (on foot with some armor or on stegy omiting the Krox units). Or any other suggestions? Thanks. ;)

Mount him on a cold one.
 
Can he join a unit of skinks and krox when he is mounted? it would look quite odd on the battlefiled... and what about ranking that unit?
 
There is plenty of good ways to form an army, so its realy comes down to your preffered play style, but to make it balanced you'll need a bit of experience to see for yourself how units can support each other and test how heavy your magic, CC ect. should be. I would recomend you to go with a list that just feels right for you and take it to a few friendly fights to sort out how you like to fight. Now with the new edition just right around the corner, I think that a lot of Lizzi players will try out different comboes to get to know how the 7th edition lizzard fights.

About that scar-vet and slowing you down: I Agree with you, that 2" difference in movement will mean you probably will have to recive a charge instead of getting to charge yourself. I you would like that unit to be an anvil, a scar-vet is your best bet, but then again, a unit with saurus w/spears would probably do a better job for that single purpose than skink/kroxies.. I hasn't seen the new book and I know that a chief was very rarely taken in the 6th edi. but I say, give it a try If you feel your units should be able to cover ground quicly. A mounted scar-vet is of cours also possible, but then we're talkinng a totaly different pts class espesialy in a 1k match.

Yes he can. Don't have my BRB right here, but should be under Characters
Count ranks as you do with a unit of saurus/slann or skinks/kroxies. Just assume the place taken by the bigger characterbase to include in your ranks of skinks

Yes he can. The one problem is that you will have to take a stupidity test when moving the unit, although, cold blooded 8 shouldn't fail too often. It should make for a tough unit though. The current faq has good info on how to deal with ranking up units that have base sizes that don't quite fit together.
 
2nd list is nice, the TSoD is cool but quite a lot of points. Your army is very fast, maybe try having a skink chief as your general as the Scar-Vet will slow you down. Also with that build you could not use the GW and Ench. Shield in the same turn of combat and if your character is in a unit he is safe from shooting.

One idea you could have is a Skink Chief with Stegadon Helm. That'd bring his Ld up to 8 like a scar-vet. The problem is thats all his point allowance taken up. You could give him the Drums of Xohatec (dont know price) which stop you being march blocked and gives +1 to rally tests. Or you could give him Dagger of Sotek and Enchanted shield or something.

I like your all skink army, the Stegadon box comes with all 4 options (Giant Bow, Blowpipes, EoG and Chief) so you get a free chief model with it.
