8th Ed. 1500p Noobiness

First poster here!
I'm about to start a Lizardmen army and conquer the old world in the name of the Ancients.
A friend of mine (not a LM player) helped me put this together, so is this list viable for general purpose games, or am I thinking completely out of bounds here:

• Lords: 370p

Slann mage-priest w/
Obsidian Lodestone,
Focus of Mastery,
Higher State of Conciousness

• Hero: 134p

-Skink Chief (BSB) w/
Venom of the firefly Frog,
Biting Blade,
Talisman of Endurance,
Light Armour,
Shield

• Core: 578p

- 40x Skinks (5x8)
- 30x Saurus Warriors (5x6) w/ Standard, Musician

• Special: 413p

- 18x Temple Guard (5x4) w/ Standard, Musician
- 6x Chameleon Skinks


The Slann-combo is more than a bit cheesy, I'm well aware of that, but I couldn't resist at least trying it out.
Any constructive criticism would be most appreciated.

rekit the chief with pirahna blade and enchanted shield and luckstone and LA. I'd change the Tg to 16 rather than 18 and that = 102+256=358 add some salamanders and lose 5 skinks.
