8th Ed. 1500 pts army for total Warhammer Noob

Hi
Would like to start a 1500 points game with my Lizardmen army . Don`t have expirience with WHB and getting soooo confused from reading/watching/planing all lists/battle reports and threads .

Please help with army for fun play . Here`s something i have created :

Saurus Scar Vet ,light armor,shield, magic items
Skink Priest , lvl2,magic points

40 Saurus Warriors ,HW , FC
12 Skink Skirmishers
12 Skink Skirmishers

30 Skinks ,FC + 3 Kroxigor

Salamander pack, exstra handler
Salamander pack, exstra handler

3 terradon Riders

it`a around 1510 so i would like to go a bit down ,but don`t know on what :/
Should i take Scar Vet BSB ? should i take Terradon riders ? is Skroxigor good/strong enough ?
I would like to have some sort of magic , that`s way have Skin Priest

Please, help me create a decent list . Cheers guys !!

If you just need to cut back a few points, make the skink skirmishers into groups of 10. They're a lot more maneuverable that way. I can't speak for kroixigor, or terradon riders, cause i've never played them but lots of people vouch for them. I only ever really use saurus and skinks, and a priest. The skinks are fantastic for dancing around stuff and poisoning it to bits

I'd suggest to free up some points knocking the Skirmishers back to 10 model units. The extra 2 won't add much. If you need a few more points you can also trim a few Saurus down. 37 Saurus isn't much different from 40. I'd recommend making the Scar Veteran a BSB. You lose the ability to field him as a general but in my opinion that is a reasonable price to pay since his Ld won't boost the Saurus and barely boosts the Skrox. Since your list is based on big block and your army is only 1500 points, a single unlucky roll can cost you the match.

I agree with what Scalanex has said, I would also add that you should give crown of command to the Scar Vet BSB to make the unit stubborn, you should keep the terradons to take out any warmachines, + they look good and are fun to play.

Also you will need a dispel scroll, one purple sun will ruin your day

What i will do : cut skrimishers to 10 ... will think about swaping Terradons for Skins Chameleons ... I was thinking to go 24 Skinks + 3 Krox and maybe save some pts and make 2 Saurus units like 25 ???
What about running Scar Vet on Cold one as a singel ?? i know Priest is not much but would like to have "some" magic .... Cheers

I wouldnt really expect to see a purple sun at 1500 pts but better safe than sorry.

A lvl 2 priest should be enough for magic, I would take plaque of tepok though so you get a better selection of spells.

As for a scar vet cowboy, if he is your general you dont really want him running of on his own.
