8th Ed. 1500 pt list New to fantasy.

Hey guys,

I've been playing 40k for the last year and decided to start up fantasy. I ended up getting a good deal on some lizardmen, so now I've got an army. I have enough for around 2500 points but I figured It'd be easier to learn with a smaller point level. Anyway onto my list!


Slann: Reservoir of energy, Harmonic convergence, Standard bearer
Temple guard: 16 man, full command
Saurus warriors: 21 man, Shields and hand weapons, full command
Skink skirmishers: 10 man, blowpipes
Skink skirmishers: 10 man, blowpipes
Bastiladon: Solar engine
Ancient Stegadon: Unstoppable stampede
Salamander: 4 skink crew

So I'm pretty much a total noob at fantasy so any insight would be appreciated!

I like Sharpened Horns on my Stegadon more than Stampede, but if you're not going up against many monsters/monstrous infantry you might get more use out of the extra attack than d3 wounds on impact.

I would recommend making one of your 10 man Skink units a Jav & Shield unit. Especially since you're just learning. That way you can compare and contrast each type's usefulness in the same conditions.

Thanks for the reply! I really didn't know which would be the best option on the skinks, so I'll give your suggestion a go.

As far as the horns go I couldn't find the points for them, but I'll figure out how to get them in.
