8th Ed. 1500 army vs dark elves

I'm trying to get a 1500 point army together to play against a dark elf army. I know that he will most likely bring 4 bolt throwers, a level 4 with dark magic and most likely 2 groups of doom warlocks. My army list so far is as follows:

Slann Mage-Priest
- Becalming Cogitation
- Harmonic Convergence
- Channeling Staff

Skink Priest
- Cloak of Feathers

Saurus Scar-Veteran
- Cold One
- Great Weapon
- Armor of Destiny

2 Groups of 3 Rippers

2 Groups of 1 Salamander and 3 handlers

25 Saurus Warrirors

Skink Cohort with 16 skinks and 2 Krox

Total of 1479 points

I need to decide what lore to take for the slann. I was thinking either high magic or light but i have no idea what would be strong against dark elves. Also need to figure out the remaining points or if i should change up anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'd drop the priest. 500 points in magic for a 1500 point game isn't going to work out.

In my opinion High MAgic will be useful against the Dark Elves. Drain Magic will be a good tool as they have many hexes in Dark Magic. Overall each element of the lore will be useful against them.

Wandering Deliberations will work well too though. You can then do more buffs / hexes and have various damaging spells to fall in with your game situation.

I think I will try High magic in my first couple of games against them to use Drain Magic, Arcane Unforging & Fiery Convocation liberally

Ok so I'm dropping the skink priest and a group of rippers and going with a stegadon with sharpened horns and putting a standard bearer with the saurus block for a total of 1499 points.
