8th Ed. 1200; First game on tuesday!

Hey guys!
So I got my first game with my lizards on tuesday (my birthday) wohoo.

Now I have been building my army from scratch, and this is what ive got so far



Skink priest
Diadem of power

20 Saurus with spear
20 Saurus with spear

10 Skirmishers
10 Skirmishers

28skinks + 3 kroxigors

2 salamanders.


1200pts

I know the list is heavy on core, but could this work?

Yes, it could. It is actually a pretty solid list. I would recommend running the sallies separately to maximize the number of potential targets. I would probably combine the saurus and take hand weapon and shield. That way you get the better armor save and the parry save.

personally i'd put in the slann instead ,but it's a good list. Don't fear to put in many core units, our core are useful and good for their respective roles

Its quite reasonable. I would combine the Saurus up to around size 30, drop the spears, and add more skinks to the Skrox block. And definitely split the Salamanders.

Being a smaller list your usually limited to 1 rare so a unit of 2 sallies is what I like to include as well, as for your blocks sauras are the 2nd meanest core infantry in the game IMO ranking under choas, so your better off with 18-20 per block in these smaller lists, they will manage agaisnt most armies with their cold blooded an good save. as for equipment I like spears on squishy armies with skaven rats or skeles as u will get an extra row of attacks in forfeiting a 6+ parry save. (just a 3 rank deep of 5 is gonna put out 21 attacks)

it's a nice core list when u expand I would look at some fun units like a slann/steg to balance it
