8th Ed. 1000pt Coming back to Lizardmen Army

I started collecting a Lizardmen army several years ago, but got distracted by other things and armies, however, I've recently been inspired to get back into my Lizardmen.

My Local Store is holding a doubles tournament in about a month's time, and I'm thinking of entering it. As such, I've written a 1000pt army list, partly incorporating models that I already have, and partly incorporating new models.

Heroes
Saurus Scar Veteran [Light Armour, Enchanted Shield & Sword of Strife]

Skink Priest (Beasts) [Lvl 2 Wizard, Channeling Staff]

Core
Saurus Warriors (20) [Full Command, Spears]

Saurus Warriors (15) [Full Command]

Special
Ripperdactyl Riders (6)

Rare
Razordon Hunting Pack (1) [1 Additional Skink Handler]

Total for Army 1000pts.


What do you guy's think about this, both as a list for someone coming back to the army after several years of absence, and as a Doubles Tournament list?

That's similar to a 1000pts doubles list I played the other week with great success.

Roughly from memory mine was:

Old blood - great weapon, dawnstone, some sort of magic armour but I can't remember which.

Scar vet - bsb, enchanted shield, light armour

Skink priest - lvl 2 beasts, dispel scroll

18 saurus - spears, fc

11 skink skirmishers - javs and shield

11 skink skirmishers - javs and shield

3 terradons

1 salamander

That's a decent list.

Your best option would be to try and have a few games with it before the tournament, see what the best tactics are for your list, for each list has its own strength and weaknesses.

I also saw you didn't have a BSB, any reason??

I didn't have a reason for not having a BSB, but I currently am thinking about changing it, by dropping the Ripperdactyl's and having Skink Skirmishers instead. So I may tweak the Heroes section as well, to include a BSB
