Maybe try to cut down one or both of the units of saurus to 15 and try and fit in a scar vet or maybe another nit of skink skirmishers the y are useful

Hope this helps

Gotta say this first since it violates forum policy and GW intelligence rights; you can't post point costs of units.

There, said that, so now onto the constructive stuff! haha

If you want to go magic heavy at 1000 points then stick with your EotG, but I'd also try and find space for a plaque of Tepok so that you know four spells instead of just three. I'd also try and squeeze in a scroll if you can.

Champs at this point level are completely useless. They cost too much for what you get and you don't have any characters going into those blocks so they don't serve any real purpose. You might also consider dropping them down to either 18 or 15 (6x3 or 5x3 respectively). This will get you more points to add into your army.

If you can wiggle them in there, a unit of terradons is under a hundred points and they are worth it! Either them or go with a Razordon/salamander (one or the other) they are definately nice to have in a 1K game too!

I'd echo most of the above comments...

Basically, with you really only having 4 total units in your army - two of which are big infantry blocks, and another being your steg - you're going to get run around by any army that has a good amount of skirmish/cavalry type units. The champions don't bring much for their point cost, and even the banners might be a bit much at this point level as your ability to cut down those attacking you should hopefully balance out the CR.

Also, you'd have to hope for ideal terrain placement - as warmachines and gun/bow lines will cut down your saurus long before they can get into combat (even with the help of the steg's ward save against shooting... attrition will wear you down). To cross the table quickly to deal with either of these, you'd want either the above mentioned terradons, or a group of chameleon skinks.
