8th Ed. 1000 pt vs Dwarfs

Hi, here's my first try at a 1000 pt army which will be facing dwarfs. I would really appreciate any suggestions so please tell me what you think

Skink Priest w/ Plaque of Tepok

Scar Veteran w/ Light Armor, Ench Shield, Burning Blade of Chotec, Dawnstone

17 Saurus w/ Std, Mus
17 Skinks w/ 2 Kroxigor, Std
10 Skink Skirmishers
10 Skink Skirmishers

6 Chameleon Skinks

Salamander w/ extra snack
Salamander w/ extra snack

Total = 1000 pts

I figured at the points level the Scar Veteran would be better as the General than as a standard bearer. Scar Veteran would be with Saurus unit, Skink priest w/ skirmishers. I was debating dropping the dawnstone to add two more saurus and running them as a 5x4 instead of 6x3, would that be better? less attacks per round of combat but more staying power

Ironcurse Icon would probably be a good idea.

Hey Okaric,

Against Dwarves, I agree with FlowinEnno that ironcurse icon would be a good investment for the scar vet- at minimal points it gives a 6+ ward save against war machines (applies to whole unit I believe). Also, it may be an idea to have two groups of chameleon skinks as you really want to get rid of their fire power asap. I think it would be better to have staying power with your saurus (HW/Sh) but that might just be personal preference.

Just a tip, be careful where you place your rank-and-file troops (saurus and skrox) as if they're easy to hit, they will be killed rather quickly (assuming your opponent has at least a couple of bolt throwers or cannons). In deployment, place them last and try to put them out of sight from the warmachines if you can
