8th Ed. 1000 Points Verses Chaos Warriors

Hi. New Player. Building my first 1000 points alongside my mate who's doing the same with Warriors of Chaos.

Suggestions about what i should be looking to take?

Warriors of Chaos will be a tough opponent. You should focus on saurus warriors primarily. You would also benefit from some salamanders. Some skink skirmishers to take advantage of their poisoned javelins or blowpipes. A scar-vet or old blood to lead the army and one skink priest for basic magic support.

That should do it.

I have a steg model, would you consider using it?

in a 1k game will be a push to get him in but id put him in myself. You need some strength against WOC which the steggy provides. I'd go with ancient with the blow pipes for some shooting aswell. and if you dont get the charge least you can have 4d6 poison stand and shoot shots weree as you dont with the bow. Plus the etra armour save will be useful

I really like the Idea of Something big and hard hitting with impact hits and Thunderstomp but I can't get the Ancient in at 1K as he's too many points. The Giant bow might prove useful against hit High Armour troops as well I suppose.

I also wouldn't be able to take and Sallies if I managed to get a Ancient Steg in and I think they may be useful against Chaos Warriors and Marauder blocks in particular
