Hey, interwebs. So I've posted a few army lists here in the past month or so, and y'all have been super helpful. Right now I'm playing 1000pt games exclusively (just because I'm on a budget and want to learn the game better before I make a huge investment). I've currently played 6 games, won 4, tied 1 (against WoC), and lost 1 (against Wood Elves). My current list is as follows:

Scar Vet
-Extra Hand Weapon
-Armor of Fortune
-Firefly Frog Venom

Skink Priest
-Level 2
-Plaque of Tepoc

Saurus x20
-Full Command

Saurus x20
-Full Command

Skink Skirmishers x10
-Javelins

Skink Skirmishers x10
-Javelins

Salamander

... the total points value for this list is 984. I can think of a few small changes to make (Extra Handler, adding Braves etc.), but I'm curious; how would you recommend I finish this army? Feel free to make changes to existing units if you think I herped my derp. Thanks.

First I would change your skirmishers from javelins to blowpipes. That saves you 20 pts right there. I don't really think you gain much from javelins anyway, you want your skirmishers to be cheap and expendable.

I also would probably drop one of those skirmishers and pick up a unit of 5-6 chameleon skinks. These are very useful, especially in smaller games due to their scout ability. Plop them behind the enemy lines and snipe his war machines or solo characters for fun and profit.

Or instead of that, still replace javs with blowpipes on one skirmisher unit then drop the other to pick up another salamander. They are very useful and will earn their points back more than a skirmisher unit. If you run them both solo, make sure to buy one extra snack each.

Other than that, looks solid.

I agree with Battlehamster. Drop the javelins and the champion from one of the saurus blocks and put those points into chameleons. You may even consider dropping one of the saurus blocks entirely for a stegadon. Stegs wreck thing in lower point games.

Thanks to the both of you for the advice! I played a game tonight and dropped 1 Champion, 2 Musicians, and Javelins to get 1 unit of 5 Chameleons. The plan worked awesomely. I played Wood Elves (I know, not the best army, but the player I play is REALLY good-- he exploits terrain so well one of my Saurus blocks never got to do anything) and won by about 450 Points. The key was that he threw in a fast moving, good shooting Noble to kill my priest, but my Chameleons took care of him on turn one. I can't wait to send them against a Chaos Sorcerer!
