8th Ed. 1000 point army list (require tweaking)

I started playing Warhammer Fantasy about a month ago and I decided on Lizardmen purely because they look awesome. I made a couple of army lists and have played a few games with some of my friends but i'm not sure if what i'm making is as good as I can.

Currently I have he following:

Battalion box
2 Salamanders
Saurus oldblood/scar veteren
Stegadon with Bolt thrower
Slann mage priest
Skink priest

almost all the games i've played have been 1000pt and this is kind of what i have used each time.

Hero: - 140 + 105 = 245
Scar-Veteren -Burning blade of chotec
venom of firefly frog
carnosaur pendant
light armour


Skink Priest - disadem of power, plaque of tepok

Core - 258 + 102 = 360
Saurus Warriors (20) - standard, musician
Spears

Skink skirmishers (12) - Javelin + Shields
Brave

Special
Stegadon -235

Rare - 160
Salamanders
2x1
extra handler

=1000pts

Is this army acceptable and is they areas to improve.
I'm going to pick up some more saurus warriors soon and some chamelion skinks
since people say they are good and they look it from there bio
