7th Ed. 10 Special characters!!

ok i got to look at the new mortals book yesterday. pretty cool actually but page after page after page of flipping revealed 10 special characters! Many of them lords. A couple hero's. and even a Rare slot. A vast majority are strength 7 and most look built to kill characters with little to no effort. There even have a Troll (w/ a vomit attack that does d6 str.5 hits w/ no armor save!) and a Dragon ogre that is movement 8, str.8, toughness 6, with 8 attacks!! I'm not gonna lie there is a winged demon princess of khorn that looks pretty awesome, and the new plastic demon prince kit is gonna rock. I'm sorry if this is long winded or in the wrong spot but i just wanted to report my findings. Good luck

Anyway, the new Lizardmen book will have ten special characters as well, it's becoming a trend.

And to my knowlege there is no Skink riding a Palenquin thats just..... Weird.
 
Rumor says there is, and if they get Nakai in there (which they'd better so I'll be pissed) we may well hit ten.
 
Look back through those Warseer rumours and you will find what I just told you. Yet I got it from a completely different source, so that's two different sources saying nine characters. I don't see why it is so hard to believe since the last two books GW released had ten characters (Space Marines and Warriors of Chaos).

Anyways i was thinking of starting dark Elves what would you say be a good Tourney list?

Also my other armies are Brettonians, Imperial Guard, Sister of Battle, dark Eldar Yeah.
 
Lucky question as I also play Dark Elves.

For combat heavy I use Dreadlord on a Dragon, Caddy, Assassin, 5 Shades, 18 Black Guard with the ASF Banner and the Ring of Hotek, 20 Spears, 2x5 Dark Riders with XBs, 2x5 Harpies, a Hydra, and a RBT.

For magic heavy I use Lvl4 on steed with Black Staff and reverse ward, Lvl2 with cloak and horse, Lvl2 with scroll and dagger, 18 Black Guard with the ASF banner, 5 Shades, 24 Spears, 2x5 DR with XB, 2x5 Harpies, Hydra, 2RBT.

Druchii.net is a great place to find army advise and they helped me tone my list into a killing machine. I only played it once at a tournament, but I won said tournament with minimal casualties. Have yet to play serious play with the magic list.
 
I use to use a Supreme Sorceress but found it quite lacking.

Also the cauldren of Blood W Banner on Black Guard really was just to many points for what it does.

I find Repeater Crossbows effective but what about you?
 
En masse maybe, but otherwise not much 'cause you are usually hitting on fives. I don't use the Cauldron 'cause it is too expensive for what it does.
 
I think I shall get the dragon.

A look at the Corsairs and they look pretty good. Should i use these.

Also I LUVE assasain. How would you kit it up for troop Killing?

Can you explain how you would use this list?
 
Dragon is great for combat armies.

The Corsairs are terrible. They are barely better than the Warriors but yet are 4pts dearer. I would advise avoiding them.

If you want to set an Assassin up for troop killing, give him an extra hand weapon, Manbane, and Rune of Khaine. That gives him 4+D3 A at S = opponent's T +1. So always wounds on 3's, and always hits on 2's due to his WS9 ('cept against Bloodthirster)

Man, our characters have odd names. Itzi bitzi? Come on...
 
becouse the names are so wierd we just call it how they sound :P and well teradon skink sounds like tiktaktoe.

itzie bitzi is ind a stupid name... itsy bitsy spider ...:P
