7th Ed. 1,999 points of scaly goodness

Alright so my army list is as follows

Saurus 23 = 253
Skink 20 = 100
Cavalry 8 = 280
Terradon 1 = 30
Chakax 1 = 335
Ancient Stegadon= 275
Skink priest with engine=355
Saurus old blood + carnosaur= 371

I bought most of these guys awhile ago before i actually considered playing with them ( this is why the numbers on the saurus and skins are odd because some of the models broke =/) as such i made a lot of stupid decisions such as buying kroq gar (who I'm fielding as an old blood). alright so I have a couple of questions A. Is fielding Chakax alone a good idea or is he only viable if he is with other temple guards / protecting a Slaan, B. is that old blood even worth having or should i replace him with a slaan, and C. if i get a Slaan is it entirely necessary to get temple guards. Thank you for your time and i apologize for being a noob.

A. I've never played him not sure

b. I love running my carno/old blood. Its a matter of "what do you want to do." Do you want to have a high amount of magic/damage or a more combat driven list. Both list can and do win (playing style pending) so really its up to u. Most LM players go magic slann madness.

c. there is a growing number of LM players that do run a naked slann. I'm not a fan but once again it comes down to playing style.
