8th Ed. Completely original idea for Dinosaurs with lasers!

Why do you think I play Lizardmen? I watched that show and collected the toys when I was growing up! My childhood dinosaur obsession with Dino-Riders and Definitely Dinosaurs! all just led up to my Lizardmen army (as a child I dreamed of becoming a paleontologist like in Jurassic Park). I'm sure many people were the same way.

Basically described me to the T! Loved this show growing up and still have a few of the toys. Never did become a paleontologist , now i just dig through plastic instead of rock for my dino fix :smug:

I wish paleontology didn't involve lots and lots of writing or else I probably would have gone into that instead of designing bridges and buildings. I really do like rocks and bones and biology.

Jurassic Park
Dino Riders
Power Rangers
Denver: the last dinosaur

...bet there was more which I will hate myself for forgetting when someone brings it up!

Old stuff:
Land of the Lost (any version)
Zoids (ok those are robot dinos)

Modern stuff:
primevil
Terra Nova

land of the lost was awesome

Terra Nova is ok..sadly its cancelled (havnt seen the last 2 episodes because I found out)

Is Primeval any good?

I still sing the "Denver the Last Dinosaur" theme song...just to annoy my wife.
Land of the Lost was awesome. Saturday mornings used to be so full of good shows, I don't think kids have that now.

Oh oh that reminds me... :smug:

Cadillacs and Dinosaurs,
that show was awesome.

Fortunately for us the protagonists in these shows never figured out a single cannon can kill every dinosaur under the sun, otherwise they all would have been short series!

:beaver:

OMG! That takes me back! I used to have the Brontosaurus toy for that! One of my favorite toys growing up...

Dinosaurs with lasers is the best idea ever! That's the only reason I take the Bastiladon haha.

On the comment about monsters taking cannon shots, I think they need to create a special rule like Monstrous Resilience: all monsters receive a 4+/5+ ward vs war machines of any sort due to their bulk and the inefficiency of medieval devices. Or: Strength and multiple wounds is halved rounding up when firing at a unit with the Monster unit type. Anything like that... anything! That might give our dino's with lasers a fighting chance to survive till turn 2.

You guys are forgetting The land before time! that movie was awesome!

What would work is have a cannon roll the multiple wounds 1st, then roll to wound for each wound, then roll to save.
You're more likely to do something, but far less likely to single shot the monster.

And though there wern't dinosuars persay, what would the world be today without Encino Man?!?

"No wheezin the juice!"

OMG, is Cadillacs and Dinosaurs a show too? I love that comic! I need to search that immediately! And yeah, Dino Riders is a very familiar show for me, even my avatar picture is a homage to it (though I didn't make the picture). And Jurassic Park is still one of my favourite movies, for a long time I wanted to be a paleontologist. Ended up as a biochemist, though.

Oh how nostalgic

Oh and the concept behind primeval:
Tears in space-time are letting prehistoric creatures wander into our time
and there is a group that studies on these rips in reality who also act as
a kind of first line of defence, problem is that the rips can show up anywhere
and connect to any time period (and yes they have had creatures from a possible
future come in)
