The never-ending battle against woke Hollywood and SJW infused entertainment media [trigger warning]

A man of taste.

I believe the only people on Earth who have Rings of Power posters in their home were on the cast or crew, so it's the guy's fault for not doing his research.

It might not have come up? While highly unlikely as most people discuss their jobs and interests at least a bit on dates. This might be a drunken pickup which is it's own mistake.

I almost wish I cared but I never saw One Piece. I'm the anime fan that "real" anime fans call poseurs.

If Netflix can stick the landing with One Piece, maybe they will do a good job with other things...maybe.

I've seen a season but never had the time to invest to the whole series. There is so much to watch and do in the real world that TV takes a back seat. Now if this was Robotech I'd be critiquing this as if it was my job.

Besides, how do we know they'll keep their word in toning down the wokeness? This could all be just some corporate ploy to make us think they've changed, like the ones GW have been spinning, when in reality they won't change at all.

At this point, I don't trust any of the major media companies to make something good. I'll wait for reviewers I trust to vet something first.

Along those lines, I heard great things about Amazon Prime's The Boys and I saw it in my local library last week, so I was finally able to watch the first two seasons without breaking two rules of mine.

1) Don't pay for Amazon Prime
2) Don't commit piracy.

Without going into spoilers, I thought The Boys was awesome though I'm not sure if it has universal appeal or just ticked all the right boxes to make Scalenex happy.

Though I may have to break rule 1 or buy the DVDs if I want to watch Season 3.

Fun fact, season 3 of the Boys debuted in June through July of 2022. Season 1 of Rings of Power debuted September through October of 2022.

In October, there were more views on the Boys than Rings of Power. Rings of Power was the most expensive television show every made and it wasn't even the number 1 show on Amazon Prime with a huge marketing budget while the Boys barely had any conventional marketing at all and roughly a tenth of Rings of Power's budget.

I might break down and subscribe to Prime for a month so I can binge season 3 (and rewatch the Tick, that was a great series).
