Besides, how do we know they'll keep their word in toning down the wokeness? This could all be just some corporate ploy to make us think they've changed, like the ones GW have been spinning, when in reality they won't change at all.
At this point, I don't trust any of the major media companies to make something good. I'll wait for reviewers I trust to vet something first.
Along those lines, I heard great things about Amazon Prime's
The Boys and I saw it in my local library last week, so I was finally able to watch the first two seasons without breaking two rules of mine.
1) Don't pay for Amazon Prime
2) Don't commit piracy.
Without going into spoilers, I thought
The Boys was awesome though I'm not sure if it has universal appeal or just ticked all the right boxes to make Scalenex happy.
Though I may have to break rule 1 or buy the DVDs if I want to watch Season 3.
Fun fact, season 3 of the Boys debuted in June through July of 2022. Season 1 of Rings of Power debuted September through October of 2022.
In October, there were more views on the Boys than Rings of Power. Rings of Power was the most expensive television show every made and it wasn't even the number 1 show on Amazon Prime with a huge marketing budget while the Boys barely had any conventional marketing at all and roughly a tenth of Rings of Power's budget.
I might break down and subscribe to Prime for a month so I can binge season 3 (and rewatch the Tick, that was a great series).
