I know this isn't Star Wars/Trek related, but we have occasionally discussed other entertainment, like Marvel.
My wife and I went to see Ant-Man 3 this week. She was interested and kind of laughs at me for hating on Marvel these days. Without spoiling too much, I'll say that it is watchable but it don't feel it's very memorable. I guess I'm getting superhero movie fatigue? I know most of my favorite hero stories have similar structures, but this just didn't grab me. Some of the story was rather contrived. Although a lot of fiction stories are contrived, one of the main characters virtually refuses to share helpful info with the rest of the group, just to build anticipation for the big bad. Paul Rudd is funny and I didn't feel like there were as many jokes as the last two Thor movies, but there were still a few too many jokey scenes, or odd non sequiturs, than I really wanted. I generally liked Jonathan Majors as the big bad. I don't know, it was just okay, I guess. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to watch it again.
