AoS Help Vs Nighthaunt

slaves to darkness it has a lot of counter play to our main strats it's heavenly anti ranged and makes it impossible to make a 9" charge
What stuff did STD recently get? I’m interested

@Mokomoko I was going to suggest spamming razordons but I see @Killer Angel @LizardWizard and @Canas already suggested it!
One key thing to keep in mind is that nighthaunt have somewhat brittle battleline, with decent saves but most of them are limited to a single wound which limits the amount of damage they can take

Yes, but those battlelines can be ressed and it's not easy to wipe a chainrasp horde.
Plus, i expect to see an increase in fast & heavy hitters as the Black coach, given its points decrease.

khorn deamon princes can make terane block line of sight and halve the charge rolls withing 18" of them this makes shooting hard as you cant teleport shooting and the saport in the same turn and no one in the game can make a 8" charge. mix the with a ability that your hit rolls of 6 hurt you and a few spells that make it so that you can't move STD is a very trolly army

Well, he’s asking for the Chainrasp horde for Christmas, so... guess I’d better watch out. I’m asking for one razordon with 3 skink handlers. Fortunately he doesn’t have the Black Coach.

can't some destruction armies still make the charges with relative ease due to their obscene amount of modifiers?
 
well the war chanta has a 4+ prayer that lets them roll 3d6 for the charge but that still gives them a 40% chance to fail a 6" charge sooooo ya no one gets to charge STD

nope because if they are marked nurgle then it's -1 to hit them with shooting and despoilers can make any terrain piece into a wyldwood so shooting doesn't work either

in fairness, they can\t really do all of that at the same time (are mixed mark armies a thing? please tell me mixed marks get punished... o god GW totally missed the obvious problem that's mixing marks freely is bound to be didnt they?). So you'l be able to use at least one of the approaches.

actualy no you can have mix marks in your army but only nurgle heros can buff nergle troops and so on. but you can run a dispoilers army with a prince of khorn and a few heroes of nergle buffing troops of nergle and even better if you use the

Unmodified wound rolls of 6 on attacks targeting units from this btn result in the attacker taking 1 mortal wound. Also, in your hero phase, pick an enemy target within 1" of any unit in the battalion. On a 3+, that enemy unit takes D3 MW.

then not only can you not charge or shoot them but after they charge you you take damage from hiting or shooting them so have fun with that it also makes your army a 2-3 drop
not insurmountable but it's a very trooly army
 
isn't the plaguetouched warband's effect melee only? Thought they idea was they just bleed on top of you and infect you.

And meh, I think it's probably not going to be too terrible. But yeah it's quite trolly. The biggest issue I guess is trying to predict which variant you'l face as they need wildly different counters.

well i beleave you can make it a d3 mortals but ya the mane reason you take it is to put you're intire army in it so that you're a low drop army

o for crying out loud... you'd think they'd learn to be more carefull with their phrasing... I guess it balances out against their general lack of ranged firepower a bit. But damn that ruins armies like the KO who are squishy and rely on shooting the enemy without being touched themselves.

On the bright side, it does mean Kroak is the supreme counter against StD which is rather fitting. Spells that do not care about line of sight and LoSaT to get into position. Kroak cares not for the puny powers of chaos.
