People will be so pissed when the Mandalorian eats Baby Yoda in the last episode.

(Game of Thrones should make everyone wary to judge a TV show character before the end of the show. All those people calling their kids "Daenerys" or "Khaleesi" deserve it).

I've never seen a show that was so great and then botched so badly. What a travesty.

IMO the interesting thing about GoT and its bad end is that it again is about contrast.

The last seasons weren't _that_ bad, compared to other stuff we see on TV, but compared to the high standards GoT set for itself in its first four seasons it was a steep decline.

I would agree in regards to seasons 5-7; I still enjoyed those seasons greatly. I feel that season 8 was objectively pretty bad. The contrast to the earlier seasons only worsens this effect.

Now that I think about it: season 5 probably really is where things started to get noticeably worse.

And while I agree that some things in season 8 were objectively bad (especially those caused by the very rushed progression of the plot) I often notice that the impact they had on various parts of the audience was quite different.

Example, spoiler for season 8 of GoT
Example: I know a few people who were quite furious about the way Daenerys acted, calling it 'completely out of character' and such things. For me that part was a completely natural progression. I didn't mind it.

At the same time those people didn't mind inconsistencies like that dragons could suddenly destroy solid walls with their fire breath while they were previously unable to do that. They didn't mind the sudden and unexplained completely idiotic behaviour of some of the main characters either, while I was pretty annoyed by those.

It could have been quite an interesting story arc but it was completely rushed. She was on the precipice of winning everything she had strived for during the entire series and then just went ape shit and started killing innocent civilians. It was too much, too soon and without enough justification. IMHO

I'm pretty sure that was introduced during a very early season (maybe 2 or 3). It was mentioned that dragon fire melted the walls of an otherwise impenetrable castle and that is how the Targaryens conquered the Seven Kingdoms.

The worst was Lord Varys (who is among my favourite characters), who became an imbecile in the last season. Through 7 seasons he was established as the most careful and meticulous character and they made him behave completely recklessly during the final season.

I would liken Roger Iger to Captain Piet instead of Emperor Palpatine.

The Star Wars theme park has gotten a subpar reception. Disney Plus is underperforming what was promised. Maleficient 2 bombed. There is a rumbling backlash to the live action Disney movies, though they are still making money (barring Maleficient 2). The Marvel Cinematic Universe is losing steam. The Rise of Skywalker is going to be a dumpster fire, unless all the leaks are completely false and they are part of a brilliant misdirection campaign to lower expectations before revealing that there is actually a brilliant screenplay on par with Citizen Cane subverting our expectations in a good way.

Roger Iger is going to cling to The Mandalorian like a life preserver at the stormy sea. It's the only positive thing he can show to the shareholders to avoid being force choked by Darth Mouse.
