I do see what you mean with that. Like you with The Last Jedi, I was originally excited about The Force Awakens and thought it was OK on first viewing, but now I can’t stand it.

I agree, The Force Awakens really has fallen in my eyes. It was blatantly a ripoff of IV, but I was willing to look past it because I liked the characters and had high hopes that it was leading into something good. TLJ destroyed both of those things for me (and for half the fan base). Most people don't really seem to care for the new characters and the story is an utterly disjointed mess.

That was encouraging news! Our favourite Jedi Master may still return (although I still blame Rebels for finishing off the Obi-Wan vs Maul arc when it should have been made the climax of his film or series).
