Hello boys and girls and welcome to Let's Get Motivated - July 2019

This thread is too get us motivated each month into finishing projects that we have on the go, the rules are fairly simple.

At the start of the month post what you intend to try and finish this month, it can be models/terrain/conversions of any game type. No pressure if you don't finish anything this is for motivation nothing else.

Around the middle of the month post your progress, no images please, if you have want to share your progress with images, upload them into your blog and supply a link.

Around the end of the month post your progress, again no images, if you have finished a piece upload the images into your blog and supply a link.

The reason I don't want images in this thread is too get everyone that takes part views in their personal blog where the community can critique, etc.

You don't have a paint blog? well get one started in this forum section.

If you need advice etc post here and the community will try and answer.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone share their progress

Note: Previous months can be found in the vault http://www.lustria-online.com/forums/the-vault.40/

Cheers Crowsfoot

I will once again try to get _anything_ done.
Finish those Blood Bowl humans is the first thing to do since they are on the table. And then it is Arkhan I guess.
But with that damn summer heat it is a chore...

Complete commission job (will post on blog when done) then hopefully finish the last models for my Gloomspite army and finish my shaggoth conversion as my local GW are begging me to get it finished for their cabinet ;D

This month:
  • Finish the two 5th Edition Skinks I bought as part of the September 2018 job lot and started painting when I was waiting for my Saurus Warriors' bases to dry
  • Build and paint the contents of one of the last boxes of High Elf Spearmen ever made
I'd say that's it as the High Elves are a new unit that I opened and started building on Sunday, not an already built one to be painted.

I'm working on a "Contrast Week Challenge" for the Sprues and Brews hobby site. My plan is to get 1K of Seraphon painted using the new contrast paints in a single week :) - depending on how it goes I may even take them to 2K by the end of the month. This will be a real challenge for me as it usual takes me months and months to finish 1K of anything lol

Nice stuff on there :artist:

Gr, Imrahil

Finish my Carnosaur I started yesterday.
And to get those 40 skinks shields and the same base as everyhing else.

(And test out a new colour scheme on my second skink star priest which could mean I would start all over again )

Hmm, I never did make an update on my progress for last month, so I'll do that and my goal is then whatever is left from last month:

For reference my goals from june were:

Allright, my intention is to:

- Paint and base my first Troglodon.

- Paint skink riders for Ripperdactyls.

- Paint Kroq-Gar (not mount).

- Paint a Skink Priest.

- Fully assemble finished Bastiladon and then make a base for it.

If by that point I have more time I intend to paint the Ripperdactyls and Grymloq, and possibly find bits to make some Jungle Swarms.

Then I should update my painting block with all the stuff that I already have finished, but been too lazy to take pictures of yet.

I finished painting and basing my Troglodon, and when I get around to it, pics will be posted on my paint blog.

Mostly finished the riders for the Ripperdactyls.

Finished Paitning Kroq-Gar and Grymloq along with basing.

Almost finished Skink Priest

Fully assembled, painted and based Bastiladon

This makes my goals for this month:

- Finish Ripperdactyls and riders

- Finish base for Skink Priest

- Finish Dread Saurian

I will try a new tactic this month: small steps.
That means I will set my goal to "paint one or two models (or parts of a bigger one) today".
I tend to he depressed by huge amounts of stuff on my table.

So tonight I will try to paint the leather parts on three Blood Bowl humans. And if I have time and motivation left I might do the metal.

Basically trying to keep paintings albeit only few things, instead of painting nothing at all.

I found it helpful to just try to paint a layer or two each day? Ok today I'm going to paint all the back scales on these skinks. etc.

For myself,

I want to finish the last of the rogue trader doors so I can call that box done. My halloween cultists still need some love. I've just started some blackstone fortress minis. I may also do a teaching your friends to paint night as one of them got a primed D&D mini box for her birthday.

This is my first reply in this forum although I've been a member for 3 years since I first got my Seraphon minis and started doing some research. Thus, my main goal for this month is to get back in the game and further enlarge my lizard forces:

- Finish the 3 cold ones and 6 riders from the Saurus Knights set
- Finish basing all 24 skinks I painted around 2 years ago

Gratz on the first post. Always great to see members engage in the community. Be sure to make a painting blog on the site to show of those lovely dinos.

Thank you for the welcoming! I don't know if this is the right place to ask for information about the blog creation but I'd love to know how to start it. If there is another post on the subject, I would highly appreciate a link.

Thank you in advance!

@PsycheToad All you have to do is go to the forum for painting and converting. Once there click "Post New Thread" in the upper-right hand. There you can choose a number of tags. Blog would be ideal. After that simply post photos of your content.

Done! You can check the initial state of my goals for this month on my brand new painting blog:

I'll be updating any progress both here and on the blog.

Hope you like it and happy painting!
