AoS Age of Sigmar Rumours - Mk II. (Our new name)

Hmmm..all I can make out is we are getting some new 40k models lol.
:D And they shall know no fear! :D
If the Lizardmen get models in this style..what will they look like!? If they even get updated models...
I doubt we'll get updates, but if we do that's a good question.
Started making a Sigmar Lizard, added huge shoulder pads and armour out of green stuff, won't stick to the model but it will happily stick to the sculpting tool.
Put a touch of hand moisturizer (like Keri lotion or St. Ives) on the tips of your fingers and on the sculpting tool. I find that helps prevent the green stuff from sticking to your hands and tools. You only need to use a very tiny amount of moisturizer and reapply every so often when you feel it necessary. Silicon clay shapers are also fantastic in this regard.
ooks like chaos went from shirts to skins. :shifty: :mooning:
Maybe they ran out of blacksmiths... probably shuttled off to serve the Sigmarines and forge those shoulder pads. :p

Got what I can done so far, looks terrible but maybe the paint will improve it loads, similar to the Ataxa issue I had. I do have a picture but the quality is terrible as in terrible.

I feel like there should be a Skink with a powerfist.

Its true lol it looks like the good guys went more armour head to toe, and chaos started losing clothes lol.

except for the shoulder pads which seem obscenely large.
Space Marines! It's funny that Adeptus Astartes, the genetically modified super-soldiers, have to wear a power pack on the exterior of their armor just so they can move. But these Sigmarites? Nah. It will be interesting to see what their statline is compared to a Space Marine, lol.

Hahaha

These shoulder pads are so large that these guys would be unable to move their poor arms. I'm sure there will be a lot of crossover to 40k, as players use these models to make conversions.

Reminds me of the shouldpads I bought for my saurus xD

Apparently these models are much bigger than standard GW infantry. Somewhere near Terminator or Chosen sizes.

More stuff found.

...

If Blizzard see those "angels" in the background, I could see the tables being turned and GW get handed a cease and desist order.
As for the models, well like I said before, colour me unimpressed, they're different, I'll give them that, but they share more in common with warmachine/hordes and a few other gaming systems.

Still not a fan.

/grumpy old Slann.

Sigmar apparently has recruited the Adeptus Custodes.

God. I really want the box for that mount. I could do something glorious with it I bet.

I might wait to ebay or GW sell the mount separately. Use it for Lizardmen use.
Plus day 2 for sigfying a Saurus, adding more armour on today. Also a bonus, a round base, I ran out of square.

*Edit*

A thought that just popped in about the whole Chaos wearing cloths and all. Maybe GW have actually balanced this, I mean just this box set. There will have to be at least one or two slightly broken book later on. They gave Chaos bigger numbers, but the Sigmarines have heavy armour so they need more numbers so hits actually get in but that's my guess.

I was thinking about the armies more today and the fluff..so I assume chaos has taken over and placed everyone else in ruins..so if that is so how did the good guys manage to get resources to make all that armour?

Was wondering that also. Very good question.

I dunno what to make of the Chaos guy. Disregard my earlier comment about stds. and mus. After a closer look at the chaos group photo there is a dude with a trumpet, and two that could be standard bearers.

As for the siggy armour in the picture Slanputin posted:
  • Feet, greaves, knee cops, upper legs -- pretty much late medieval renaissance
  • Kilt and whatnot suspended from belt -- Roman gladiatorial inspiration
  • Belt -- Roman gladiator kit all the way
  • Cuirass -- Graeco Roman officer/hero kit
  • Shoulders -- space marines all the way with Italian renaissance relief sculpted detail
  • Arms, elbows, hands -- late medieval vanilla full plate
  • Weapon -- well, it's a Thor's ++hammer. (ooops, back to the armor)
  • Shield -- pretty much modern riot police gear, but Roman-esque sigmar logo
  • Helmet -- as someone else pointed out Balthasar Gelt has gone into the mask-helm trade

++If there was one that size in your living room you could not lift it.

Let's hope they did not craft it like the Island of Blood Elf/Griffin. Where the rider is nigh unto inextricable due to his legs and some other limbs being cast directly onto the beast.

Right now I don't think I am going to buy one of these boxes. I might consider it if a retailer creates some swap-over boxes. That happened at sixth edition. Some indy retailers would open a pair of boxes and all the Orc Spues would go in one box and all the Empire Sprues into another. Sort of an Ad-Hoc battalion set.

The Chaos models don't have much appeal for me.

Unless it's made of cardboard.

The head of that hammer, scaled up, is about 8 inches thick x over a foot tall x over a foot long. If it was made of solid cardboard it would have approximately the same bulk, weight, and heft as six reams of paper attached to the end of a pipe.

I could not lift six reams of paper (or the equivalent in chipboard) by grabbing the opposite end of the pipe. Certainly could not wield it. Those guys are swinging anvils nailed to the ends of pipes.

(BTW, a figure base is 7 or 8 inches thick, scaled up. 5mm = 1 foot.)
