Thought I maybe should bring out the goods, getting my first ever LM army together.
So here's my painting log. Hope you'll enjoy it.

Got the Batallion box the other day, saved 10Eur from buying it from my local shop (not GW), thought it would be a great start even if I can't use the Cold One-riders for a while.
We are aiming towards 1500p to start with.
I decided to use the skinks in the box to convert them to camo-skinks, which I did by rolling small balls and use them as eyes and twirl a string to use as their funky looking tails (I'm terrible at working with greenstuff though).

Since I'm not really keen on the blue sauruses I thought I might be a bit revolutional and use.. green! :jawdrop:

I started out with a Temple Guard, and so far that is the only thing I have painted, gotta say I am quite satisfied, except with the shield, it's a bit too dark, gotta fill up with more highlights.

    More is acoming!

2nd update today! Didn't get as much time to paint as I wanted (a first time daddy to a little boy takes time away from these things I tell you!) so ended up with just doing the base dark angels green on one, and finishing the third layer of green on another.

    Comparison shot here:

A better pic of the first Temple Guard (I'll call him Benny):

Thanks for all the nice words guys. :D Much appreciated!
The greens will probably be easier to spot when I start on the regular Sauruses (in case you are interested).

Tiring day at work, only got two hours of painting today, still turned out pretty decent.
So, without further ado, TG #2:

    Both of them together:

Really satisfied with how the gold turned out on the model to the left, I'll have to repaint the other one later on.

I agree, the gold looks fantastic! Is it NMM? Almost looks like it.

    Thanks. :)
No, it's Mithril Silver -> Shining gold -> Devlan Mud -> Gryphonne Sepia.
    Looks great. :D

Next update coming either tomorrow or sunday.

Great looking minis! I'll admit that I'm not too fond of the red eyes but the rest looks ace. Keep it up!

    Thank you so much. :)

Thanks for the kind words. :)
I'm not satisfied with the eyes either. To begin with, I bring the suck when it comes to painting eyes. And choosing red as the colour was not a particulary good move.

Soundtrack of the day: Lord of the Rings (Extended edition)

Long time since I updated the thread. Irl stuff has come across, hindering me from doing anything with the army.
But now I've at least gotten around to spraycoating my whole army, AND getting a few more TG's ready.

Hopefully I will get my Standard Bearer finished today or tomorrow (not very likely though.. I managed to snap the bannerpole and can't get it to stick together again. For forks sake...).
I'm home from work with a serious infection, so painting is slow but steady (in between the fevers and sleepstops).
More coming soon (and hopefully, the rest of my army will arrive from Weyland games soon enough).

I feel your pain, broken banners are never quite the same again.
My f'in cat chewed apart my cold one banner and its still sitting in a box.

    Ouch.
The love is not the same when pets (or people) intentionally (or unintentionally) break your minis. :)
Well, the delivery should hit my post office tomorrow or early next week, with another box of TG's inside, so I'll just have to make a new SB from one of those instead.

Finished my first 10 Temple Guard (the rest comes tomorrow, along with a box of Saurus, Skinks, the army book and the AoW Lizardmen Hero, yay!), but had to "scrap" the Banner after snapping it in two. :(

Not only that, I started working on the Slann. His chair was an absolute joy to paint (especially the little skink on the armrest). Hopefully the Slann itself will be just as fun. :)
Anyhowz, here is the floating palanquin:

    The whole regiment so far:

In all honesty, I have never felt so satisfied with anything I've ever painted before.
From the greens on the skin and scales, to blue shields, the bone-helmets, and the gold, I'm really happy with how it turned out. :)

Wow, at first I was not a fan of the green / blue color combination but you have made it look great. Good work! Keep it up!

Thanks. :) I was not sure either, until I had painted up a few. Was thinking of changing to red shields, but in the end I think they turned out nicely.

Awesome. :D Happy to be of some inspiration.
Thanks for the kind words. :D

Thanks alot. :) Yeah, some of the shields look pretty sweet, my Slann is going in blue tones as well, to contrast with his throne and his Skink helper. :)

Here's a WIP on the Slann :jawdrop: :

So, the Slann is painted. The last parts of my army has arrived (I even have a Stegadon I haven't planned for, thanks to my brother-in-law :D ).

    Tomorrow is hopefully build-an-army-day.

    But here's my Slann:
