Hello. I've been looking at the lists people post and I don't understand the ruling on this subject. I see everyone using cowboys with great weapons and give the same character a shield. How is this possible? The rules say that gw is two handed, so how can that character still carry a shield? Is this legit?
He can carry it, but he can't use it in close combat. What it can be used for is shooting. Like Temple guards which have halberds. The halberds are two handed, so they cannot use the shields in close combat, but when they are being shot they can, giving them a 3+ save instead of a 4+ as they have in combat.
You're welcome There are a lot of people on this forum, that can help with pretty much any question you might have regarding our scaly freinds.
Yeah nice to get help in these matters . I got somewhat the same question with magic items. A scar vet or oldblood can have light armour but you can give him armour of destiny wich is a heavy armour? How come this can happen?
ahhh, yea for armor, you can have 1 piece of magic armor, and you can possibly have at the same time 1 helmet, 1 shield and 1 piece of armor (breast plate). In our case we can only get magic helmets. (no option for regular helmets) so you could have: regular shield, light armor, and a magic helmet. or regular shield and magic armor or magic shield and light armor. Ps. we can also take a mount to add to our armor save +1 for a carnasaur or +2 for a cold one.
Yeah but i allways thought that if your character hasn't got heavy armour in he's description as avialable to him, then he can not wear heavy armour, inculding magic heavy armour. So my thing is: a scar ver can have glittering scales wich says in description that it is light armour, but that same scar vet could not carry the armour of destiny because its description says it is heavy armour and this is unavailable for the character because he can only carry light armour and not heavy armour. Ps does a cold one give +2 armour? So scaly skin 5+ light armour 4+ cold one makes that a 2+? Thought it was only a 3+ in this case ( so without a shield). Is my question clear?
That only restricts out regular mundane armor (we can only have regular light armor). you can have any single piece of magic armor. and yea, cold ones are that good. http://www.lustria-online.com/threads/a-cowboy-for-all.12879/ ^ great read
