Does anyone know if there are going to be more models released for the salamander range?

Or is it staying with the current regiment that's on the website?

They seem rather slow to add new models...
and I don't believe that the salamander range even has
models for all of their units yet...
so I would expect more sometime in the future.... :shifty:
But I don't expect updated version of existing models anytime soon.

As far as I know, we would have to make due with just the plain Salamanders released for the Forces of Nature army. Mantic is concentrating on the rulebook lists first and there are no known plans for the Uncharted Empires lists yet.

In their own words, you shouldn't be planning on waiting for the models if you wish to play in the near future, and I will add in the not so near future.

Think that the Uncharted Empires book was released as a excuse to bring the old Fantasy players to the game at no cost

Are there Salamander units that can not be accurately represented with a GW Lizardmen counterpart?

There are a few rumors about them releasing models for some of them. The podcast at Adepticon mentioned that the next three are going to be Trident Realms, Empire of Dust, and Nightstalkers. Not sure on the timeline though.

I would say no, but someone might disagree. Only the Corsairs are problematic and it is a question of a slight conversion really.

Well, given the speed at which they release models, that seals the deal for a LONG time.

I'm not really looking to play I prefer building models and eventually painting them. I like the look of the salamander regiment but would prefer a salamander army box.

You should play, it adds so much to your models.

You can represent all Salamanders easily, Corsairs you can use warriors with spears but converting to pistols would be easy.

I'm sure playing would improve my enjoyment but last time I played was 20 year's ago and not even sure there is a gaming group anymore.

Go to the Mantic Forums and check for players in your area, you will be surprised.

Closest to a Salamander army box is this kit :
    http://www.manticgames.com/mantic-shop/kings-of-war/forces-of-nature/product/clan-of-fire.html

For £49.99/$84.99/€69.99 you get 60 hard plastic salamanders, plus the salamander hero from Dugeon Saga.

It's also rather easy to convert a lesser hero with the hard plastic sprue :
    - a simple banner bearer will make a Herald (and by multi basing with slightly less models, you will still have as many units)
    - a champion like hero (using the big flaming sword from the sprue and maybe a shield) will be a battle captain
    - the unique hero from dungeon saga will be a Clan lord on foot

Simple kit bashing should also allow you to make other units or heroes while still using the Mantic sprue as the core of your models to keep the theme and general look.
