Hi, I'm starting AOS for a couple of days, so I'm quit newbie (got only experience in WH40k T'au) and I want to ask you guys, what to you think about my army list and of course for some tips.

    Leaders:
    Skink Starpriest 80 points
Skink Priest 80 points -> not in Battalions, so maybe Skink Chief?

    Battleline:
10 Skinks (with Meteoric Javelins and buckler) 60 points
10 Skinks (with Meteoric Javelins and buckler) 60 points
    3 Ripperdactyl Riders 140 points

don't know what i should take instead. Salamanders looks okay:
    3 Skink Handlers 40 points
    2 Salamanders 80 points

    Behemoths
Bastiladon 280 points -> or better Stegadon?

    Battalions
    Shadowstrike Starhost 170 points

    Total: 990/1000

    My tactic would be:
    Bastiladon shooting on prio
Ripperdactyl Riders going kamikaze on prio
Leaders buff Bastiladon or support skink
Skinks takes mission target or save bastiladon and co.
    Salamanders support Skink.

And my last question: How high are Bastiladon or Stegardon? I need this, to buy the right pocket :)

Thanks and sorry for my bad englisch.

    Welcome @Omgoor

At 1000 points the more wounds you can get on the table the better, I would drop the priest, handlers and Salamanders and go something like this

    Allegiance: Seraphon

    Leaders Skink Starpriest (80)

    Units

    20 x Skinks (120) -Boltspitters & Star Bucklers
    20 x Skinks (120) -Boltspitters & Star Bucklers
    3 x Ripperdactyl Riders (140)
    1 x Razordons (40)
    1 x Razordons (40)

    Behemoths

    Bastiladon (280)

    Battalions Shadowstrike Starhost (170)

    Total: 990 /1000 Allies: 0 / 200 Leaders: 1/4 Battlelines: 2 (2+) Behemoths: 1/2 Artillery: 2/2 Wounds: 67

    ah, okay thanks dude.

More Skink means more attacks, but there stats are not the best. Hit 5+ and Wound 5+ sounds terrible xD
Can i got some other support or damage option?

You could drop the skinks down to 10 but that only gives you 120 points you could add 5 knights, 10 warriors but not much fire power.

What you could do is drop one to 10 and bulk the other to 30 and get the bonus

Not many options. I will try your 2-20 skink units. Its realy sounds as the best option now.

    Thanks for your advice :)

    Welcome!
At 1k we lack a bit of punch but I think it will work.
The Skinks are mainly chaff and objective claimers. They can be OK shooters if buffed, but only if they are 30+ guys.

As for the Salamanders....I think I would prefer Razordons there but of course Salamanders can work as well.

If you go one unit of 10 and use them to block grab objectives, other unit of 30 will hit on +3 but if one dies your down to +4

I use cohorts of 40 skinks and they are my MVPs! Having over 30 reduces your hit down to 3+ (over 20 and its 4+). The wounds still suck, but rolling 41 dice with a 2/3 chance leaves you with about 27 chances for wounds, and the odds there are 1/3, so you're going with about 8-9 shooting wounds coming in from a safe distance for only 200 points! I am new as well (though quickly learning), but man I love skinks. Thinking about grabbing another 40.

Yes, this is why I want to make a skink army ;)

A 40 skink unit is a great idea for 1000p+ battle. Can't wait to try this out :)
But under 1000p. means I have to kick one unit to get them. In this case one Razordon and I would say Razordon is sadly the better choice.

correct me if I'm wrong :)

The razordons are always sold out so I haven't had a chance to use them :(

I Also play skink at 1k. 40guys unit are pretty good.

At this point you have 3 mandatory things: starpriest, 40skinks, 10skinks.
You can also add the shadowstrike (6 Flyers are strong but 3 is ok).
Leaving you around 350 points to fill what you like.

    I’ll go :
    Priest (the cloaked one)
    40 skinks blowpipes
    10 skinks javelins
    6 rippers
    5 caméléons
    2 sallies/razor
    Shadowstrike
