Welcome all to the second installment in the Arena of Death series! Past winners: AoD I: Xlcontiqu (Nightwalker) For those who have not competed before, here is a run-down of the Arena of Death. The Arena highlights a battle between two different characters, controlled by two different players. Each player selects a character from a Warhammer Army Book to compete. I, as the gamemaster, roll the dice and sees who will become the next crowned champion of the Arena. The following rules apply to this Arena of Death: 1. The character and his upgrades/magic gear must come to 250 points. (A point or two over is fine). 2. Magic and shooting are banned, period. No questions. No exceptions. 3. It is assumed that the characters will start in base to base contact and begin the battle from there. (i. e., attack in Initiative order) 4. Assassins are allowed as a character choice. 5. All mounts with more than one wound are banned. Additionally, the Juggernaut and War Litter are banned. 6. No special characters allowed. 7. At the moment, Van Horstmann's Speculum is banned. But this new Arena of Death brings a new rule: the Rule of Alliteration. What is this you may ask? Well, the Rule of Alliteration states that any magical equipment (including, but not limited to Vampiric Powers, Disciplines, Gifts, etc.) must begin with the same letter! For example, a Dark Elf Assassin could be equipped with Dark Venom and Dance of Doom, but cannot include Rune of Khaine in that selection. Note this only applies to the first letter of the first word and in the case of a word beginning with "the" or "a/an,"the "the"or "a/an" is ignored. If you wish to join, please fill out the following form and post it in your reply: Once you reply, just send me a PM with your character build. Interesting twist! Still working on the gear but Im in! Now I need a dictionary that says Talisman starts with a silent 'R' lol!
Hmm this should be a challenge. I am in again, but will need to look through my tomes tonight to see what I will fight with.
I'm in, but need a bit of time to peruse the books. Also, I thought it would be kinda neat to turn it into a league. Everyone fights each other at least once, preferably twice. Three points for a win, one point for a draw and none for a loss. Maybe for another time though.
Let me contemplate that idea. Right now, I may be a little pressed for time in starting it up, but that is a fantastic idea and I would like to see it happen. Maybe give me a couple of days and I can have something to that effect whipped up.
Maybe, once theres a bit more interest gathered, you could have a couple of smaller round-robin style leagues ending in a "winners circle" playing an elimination round? As an aside, did anyone play the old ochapelian games at all way back when? Had a lot of specialist matches like this such as jousts, tree(man) chopping competitions etc.
Seperate point at a later date, so sorry for the double post and here's my entry Character name: Mr. T Character type: Beast Lord Army: Beastmen C'mon, you all know it had to be done! Now all thats left is to pity the fool!

Agree with Xlontiqu, good idea but running a bunch of fights really does take a lot of time. I remember having to put aside a good hour or two when I was going to do a round when I used to run them elsewhere. I've already said though that I'm willing to help with this, maybe Xlontiqu I could run half the fights and you the other half if we run something like that?
