Most of the gaming community does not subscribe to these comps. Personally I can't say if they are good or bad since I've never used any of them. Do you use them?

Swedish no. ETC, maybe? I think some tournaments and local events used their guidelines or subsets of them.

I really don't think they are very wide spread in the community. Only a small subset of players subscribe to those systems. Most people follow straight up GW rules.

I tried etc a couple of times. It's fine for us and nerfs out the most ugly builds people can dig out.

I don't play it normally, but I have no real issue with it.

This strikes me as a completely different game system.

    Now we have
-Warhammer Fantasy (8th edition or variations thereof) for proper battles
-Age of Sigmar for skirmish battles or "for the lols"

Read through a lot of the pdfs and it seems interesting and potentially quite fun but only for beer+pretzel style games.

There are some huge holes in logic e.g. Why would a carnosaur wound a dragon on the same roll as a skink?

However, there are some amazingly brilliant ideas e.g
Enthusiastic Young Assistant: Kraggi is an apprentice Runesmith who has barely been smithing a century, but his youthfulness makes him very eager. Kraggi can attempt to unbind one spell in the enemy hero phase as if he were a wizard. You can re-roll the unbinding attempt if you are younger than your opponent.
    Or
Liquid Fortification: You can add 1 to the Bravery of Josef Bugman and any Dispossessed unit from your army within 4" of him whilst you are holding a drink.

This strongly suggests to me that these are rules for any 'informal' battles, and that there will be variations for structured battles.

Personally I'll probably give them a try with some friends and family but I don't see myself using them much.

I'm going to continue working on my homebrew Lizardmen book - ignoring EVERYTHING from the End of Times - and then edit the 8th Ed rules with some older versions (looking at you cannons) to make a system that works for me and the people I play with. Firtunately I never play competitively and I have plenty of time. I'll probably do homebrew books for a bunch of other armies like High Elves, Wood Elves, Ogres, Vampires, Dwarfs, Khemri and Chaos.

I have loads of old versions of army books and I can mix and match the best bits. I also work on ideas that will add to flavour (like sacred spawnings) for every army.

Being unemployed for a while will be useful!

ps. what's the file name for the 4 pages of rules?
(I'll try and add a cashed version of those too.)

Hey folks, been a long time. Very confused. Is GW planning on putting point on the warscrolls? Or is it just field whatever you want?

    Welcome to 9th edition.

All indications up to July 9th are that they do not intend to.

It pretty much is. Lots of people are contemplating various FTFY options to impose on AoS / 9th ed.

I think I'll stick with playing the 8th edition rules... As broken as some are... It seems more easier an fun than this lump of random rules that in my eyes.... Ruin it... I don't see balance you can say hey let's have a 1000pt game... We now have to work our own way of playing it. I went in for a refresher yesterday... And I hated it... I even the local store I play at don't like it. So I think I'll stay in the past and enjoy playing :). But I'll still be painting more than playing :D

No points as far as I've heard. It's supposed to be a "fun" game.

Please do not sully the good name of Warhammer by referring to Age of Shitmar as 9th edition. ;)

Excellent. Another person joining the cause!
