I finally made one, hopefully I can keep this updated. Lately has been monster drawing mood apparently, I usually have major issues with drawing creatures but lately is simple strokes then there. (It won't last long I guess) You will see mythgital-creatures, that's my art name in most places. I only have one piece so far, hopefully I will get around to more. A Cold One! I usually have issues with the spikes around the head but as said it was a breeze. I done the symbols on the neck the wrong way too, they are supposed to face up. Done digitally in Manga Studio 5 Now what to do next
Make sure to post your mascara wearing terrain rider here too. It's funny how the cold one is in a fairly static pose, and is almost a bit "flat" (despite the Mona Lisa smile) but the eye... That eye is so bright and lively - it lifts the whole work. I'm taking notes. The scales and spikes worked out a treat too. And the lipstick.
Here is the mascara wearing duo Many thanks everyone! Now to work on making pictures less almost flat. Maybe due to side view it made then flatness look.
The terradon isn't flat, because its comin'atcha, so I hope you aren't offended by the guy who still draws characters with both eyes on one side of their heads. Still, I guess there is a plaice for everything.
Chaq'Kai Skink, just a random Skink. The obsidian spear tip is out of place, need to practice more. Well this was a quick daily draw. The spear tip bothers me most. Well first time drawing the obsidian like the models.
Really like the skull-like markings on the Skink, give him a top hat and some shrunken heads and dolls. I see what you mean about the spear tip, but for a first time that looks pretty good. Keep up the great work!
I struggle with any kind of symmetrical weapon. The shape never looks quite right. But even putting a single spike on the back edge makes any difference in shape or angulation irrelevant. Wiggly edged flame / kris blades are the next best thing. Now, for highlights / reflections / facets on flint or obsidian weapons I shall refer you to this image where I got it vaguely right for the first time. Rather than do an edge highlight, look to highlight the ridges on the surface of the weapon (which might be organic like this or geometric like yours). A single starburst highlight on the point or apex of a curve might be good. Also note the use of mascara AND lipstick. You are but an imitator.
This one was a quick drawing, wanted to plan early on the colour scheme for my Lord Kroak for the jungle/swamp Lizardmen so here Haven't done much with the first army, been focusing too much on the Chaq'Kai. Hopefully I can recreate this colour scheme onto the model.
I don't know why, but that Kroak scares me... D: Curse you, Little-myth for making the other lizard-meat think I expelled the musk of fear.
Need to try and keep this updated more often Have a random design sketch A Quetzalcoatl or Coatl, if I was to pick a large monster to appear for the Seraphon in AoS. A Coalt Wizard would be one, just so it can stand up to Nagash and Giant Wizard Co. I want to make a 3D model but having no effort for physical sculpts, I do have 3D software but Blender has it's problems and ZBrush needs to be brought. Another sketch back in January, has no relation to Lizards.
Cool skaven, that sketch is VERY dynamic! And I like the hood on the one in the middle, looks perfect. That would be awesome. Reminds me of this model of Sotek: Spoiler: Sotek link
