GW News: LAS VEGAS OPEN 2025

None, because the scene is dead in my area, the closest I can get being 8th edition... except they are among the most toxic players I've ever encountered when it comes to Warhammer. Regrettably, a friend of mine is among that number, and is arguably THE most toxic among them...

What's the saying? No gaming is better than bad gaming.

It is better to sit alone at home than suffer through toxic people and their "problems." At least home has TV, minis to paint and assemble, and hopefully food. Also a cleaner bathroom.

That's funny. If he is so toxic, how are you guys friends? Or is he somehow only toxic when it comes to wargaming? (which would be weird if those traits didn't spill over into other things)

Because I make questionable choices, apparently.

My contract with him is minimal because even before I encountered his bad he can be, he was still very... Trying... And burnt through my social battery very quickly. And these days, I only interact with him over discord.

Easier to mute him with discord. Especially when he starts a rant about how "only retards play as Bretonnia".

So in answer... Barely. And likely only because he's a still part of a friend group on discord.

Edit:

And maybe I used "toxic" wrong, but... When I play tabletop games, it's to chill and have fun. Not to be shouted at for my every action. To have abuse sent at me whether I do good or bad. And some of the most vulgar language used to do so.

The friend, he's not normally like that, rants aside. So maybe he's just channeling the group energy tenfold.

That is WFB 8th edition's scene locally.

Edit Edit:

I really hate my autism sometimes. It feels like I'm over-explaining, but when I look at the post thinking "what can I snip" I can't bring myself to snip enough for me to feel the answer concise enough while still answering the question.

ATM not that much, but with the release of 1.5 and the new box (which some of our players already grabbed), we're going to see a return on the table.

But yes, i'm actually more into 40k

And what would you play in TOW? Your WHFB armies or something new?

My WHFB armies. In order of number of games played, up til now:

Tomb Kings (a tenth, i suppose)
Dawi (3)
Lizardmen (2)

the only "new" things i've played are some of the new models for TK, as the liche priest on dragon (mine's not a dragon, mind you. It's a giant sacred crocodile of the River Mortis, with no wings)

Did you rebase them or do you use some sort of special tray?
