    Hello Folks,

    After barely getting my foot through the door, I thought I'd barge through and take one big step onto the site. This is just for me to showcase some things that I am doing regarding painting.

    Main armies are Dwarfs and soon to join them are the Lizardmen, so most of the posts will be regarding their progress. I do struggle with highlights, so any feedback/tips would be much appreciated.

    The get motivated for April post has really got my gears going, and I am already making progress with some things, so I'll kick things off with what I have done this month so far.

    First few models for the Lizardmen in production, and am really pleased with the colour scheme. I have tried to do something similar to Steve's from Miniwargaming.

    Starting off assembling with the Scorpion Green coat:

    Then I added the Ushabti Bone skin colour, whilst using Skull White over the Green to bring it out:

    Very nice work. :) Might I suggest to paint the sand on the base and then drybrush with a lighter colour.


    Are those from the Battle for Skull pass starter?

    The most natural colour would be brown. Just paint the base with a dark brown (careful not to get in on the grass... in the future you can add the grass after painting the base) and then drybrush with a much lighter brown.

    If you want to go beyond that, here are a couple of different combinations for inspiration. The paints used are from the old GW line, but they should give you a good starting point...

    Thank you very much, that will help a lot. basing has always been something I haven't a scooby about. But now it will get better.

    To be honest most of those look pretty boring and very old-school to me. Not _bad_ per se, just... meh.
    All of them are quick and easy to do though, so that's an advantage. They can be used for horde units just fine.
